          17. Try to get the game on release day every year. First baseball game was Ken Griffey's Slugfest on N64.

They keypad on the controller selected the players. It looks so horrid now, but it was the gateway drug to my love of console baseball.

... And I am one of the three (who have voted so far) over 65! Too old to be classified as a dude... but young enough to enjoy the game. I attended my first baseball game in Montreal when I was 9 (AAA team then). So show me a little respect guys! lol

                    41. I still have my Intellivision and fired up the Major League Baseball game on it to show my son what gaming was like in the dark ages. And they complain about game lighting and jaggies.

Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?

i'm 56 and I have been chasing good baseball sims for 25-30 years. I remember playing Intellivision Baseball, Earl Weaver Baseball on the Commodore Amiga as well as MicroLeague Baseball on the Atari 800. I liked the statistical sims too, such as Diamond Mind Baseball and boardgames such as Strat-o-Matic and the APBA "Master" version. Great stuff. I bought my Playstation 3 solely to play MLB the show when it first came out, as I first seen it running in one of the pavillions at Disney EPCOT! They had a bunch of PS3s there in one of the Innovation Centers with MLB The Show running and I got to try it and knew immediately that it was the best I'd ever seen. So I buy it every year now and this year got the Vita too without even needing to think about it, once I'd seen the trailers, though I am not normally interested in portable gaming systems. MLB the Show hits the sweet spot so well that I don't never even bother to look at any of the other available games anymore, like 2K12 on the XBox.

I'm 25. Started with Bases Loaded on original NES then onto World Series Baseball for the sega, played some Triple Play/MVP games on ps2 and lastly had some horrendous experiences with the 2k series on 360... The day The Show came out on PS3 is the day I sold my 360 and haven't looked back Tuesday can't come soon enough.

                            29.
Played the MVP series on the gamecube to death (Gamecube had a boot disc so I could play US games). But then 2k bought the exclusive license and was furious! Couldn't even try it because xbox couldn't play imported games. Found out about this game called the show. Bought a ps3 and MLB 08 and never looked back!

33...use to watch alot of baseball thru the 80's and 90's then I dunno what happend. Havent paid attention for probably 10 years now, so I barely know to many people, other than the big names. Getting back into it this year. Reading these forums got me pumped, Im ready to try this game and get back into baseball. Told my older brother about it, same situation with him. Were gonna do a league together and get back into baseball.

on a side not- Am I justified in changing my favorite team since I havent paid attention and only know one player from my current team anyway(Braves)? Not like Im picking the Yankees, I gotta go with the Royals. KC is closer to me, got family there and its the only mlb game ive ever been too. But team changing is frowned upon, what do you guys think? Just curious.

You go with what you like there are no rules, there are fair weather fans and die hard fans but in the end it's baseball and just having fun is the main thing.
