Im 35, and Ive always found it interesting to look at the HUGE divide (illustrated in part by the poll results) in those about my age, and those as little as five years older, as far as video games are involved. My age group was the first to grow up with video game systems in the house (I got PONG when I was 5, Atari shortly after, and so on). As I got older, video games got more advanced, and we evolved together. My age group was the guinea pigs, so to speak.

Guys I know who are 40+ are much, much less likely to be gamers today than those my age, and when you get to 45, those guys were unlikely to have ever been gamers at all. Those who are/were are much more likely to play on PCs than consoles.

Its a very interesting gap in such a short time span. Many guys that age who I know shake their heads and think that games are for kids, and almost no one I know my age has the same attitude.

It was a great thing Nomo17k had made with this thread along with his great slider threads through the years. I sure do miss having him on these boards these days.


I wanted to bring this thread out of the cellar and see who's still with us today especially with the pandemic. As I was reading through the early pages of this thread I seen Motown post his age and sure do miss him being around and talking creating players and stuff. We lost Randy early January of 2021.


wanted to post and let everyone know to please continue posting your ages very curious to see whose still around and how many more older gamers out there in OS land we still have and who we have gained.


I also wanted to let everyone know about a OLDER GAMER LEAGUE I run for MLB THE SHOW 21.

I have a MLB THE SHOW 21 LEAGUE for PS4/PS5 that will begin May 10TH, 2021. The teams are given by where you currently lived or a team closest to where your located this prevents guys from only taking the top teams (No Exceptions). I have a easy to use League website that provides the rules, settings and features to help schedule your league games.


This league stays ACTIVE with only having to play 3 games a week. I will only accept mature adults 30 years or older only who play this game realistically and who accepts the rules we have and follows them without breaking them just to get a WIN.


Myself I am 50 years old and looking for other older gamers who want to be in a SIM style MLB league with other older guys like myself who play with class where winning is not the most important thing. I have already have a set of mandatory RULES everyone must follow each and every game that I have been using since the very first MLB league I did on MLB 2K7.

I'm still in the same age bracket as when I voted.....for now, lol. At 43, this might be the only gaming community I visit where I'm not among the oldest posters.

39… been playing The Show since 06. Still like the older games better as I was more into baseball back then but the new games are obviously better.
