I havent' played around with it too much, I use the meter.

Question though, do you just try to time it to where the circle is the smallest?

Ok, thats what I thought. Only played one exhibition game so far and didn't mess with it too much. I'm gonna give it a shot tonight.

I've always been a meter guy too...having to count to 5 just to hope that the circle will become small is a bit annoying to me

I love it, but more important is the fact we are not forced into using it only. More choice, the better.

I think it's a good balance of user input & pitcher skills.

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

Only played a couple of games with it but I could never get the pulse circle to be very small, ie maybe just a tad bigger than the ball. The closest I could get it would be 2-3 times the width of the ball. Is it even possible to the the circle to be very small, even sparingly? I like that it doesnt make your pitches 100% accurate all the time, but I can't think of one pitch that went exactly where I wanted it.

Yeah, I've never liked what they've tried to do with the analog pitching or anything, its too much action to throw a pitch. The meter has worked fine, and maybe if I get the hang of the pulse it'll be even better, we'll see.

Yeah, it sounds like it. One thing I could see being a plus is that even if you're not 100% perfect, you can still get a decent pitch off with a guy like Felix or Verlander, whereas you'd have to be more dead-on to nail it with a lower-rated guy.

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

its not just push a button and make the circle smaller its place the baseball in the strikezone how close to the edges of the strike zone. this varies according to pitch confidence fastball, changeups , sliders etc... you will not have the same confidence in all those pitches and the pitchers overall confidence as well.

its almost impossible to hit the meter at its smallest with any consistancy. but since it is a user skilled version of classic they made it where if youre circle is the biggest youre pitch doesnt get grooved down the center of the plate. and with this as well as classic i cant pelt the bottom of the strikezone all day i miss up, when im aiming down sometimes classic does this as well. and like nemesis says you can enjoy the pitching motions of the players this year which you should because of all the work they put in on motions and stances and is only going to get better!

I love pulse pitching...I actually unintentionally walked a guy...might have been the first time in 30 years of playing console video game baseball (excluding High Heat baseball) that I actually did that. The randomness of the pitch location based on the miss timed pulse (or meter) is LONG overdue in baseball video games. The Randomness in other baseball titles always had the pitch that was miss timed flying right in the wheel house to get crushed. These miss timed pitches seem to land outside the strike zone (as they should) most of the time. I think it's fantastic.

I can't seem to get the timing down, even with elite pitchers. My circle is always huge.

One of the few times a puffed out circle does not help you!

Well I haven't been at it for 30 years, but yeah, first for me as well. Like I said before, so far it seems to be a great match of ratings and human input. Some kind of effort input would be nice, but other than that its a great concept.

I am unfathomably in love with this interface. Last night, using Michael Pineda, I caught the CPU looking on a high and away fastball. Earlier, I enduced a swing and miss strikeout on a slider in the dirt. Both times, I had this undeniable sensation that I'd EARNED the result. I've never had more fun pitching than Pulse is allowing me to.

It's fun. It's ratings dependent. It's rhythmic (like pitching in real life). It's realistically difficult.

I don't see myself ever going back. With the ballmarker off (on AS...though if I jump to HOF, I'm turning it back on! LOL!), I feel like I'm pitching to a zone (rather than a specific spot...which I LOVE) and the screen looks beautiful while I'm watching the deliveries.

I can't say enough about this interface.
