Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

I don't like Pulse Pitching at all. It makes the game way too arcade-like. It's not just a simply strategy game anymore with this - it's almost like some sort of timing mini-game. Not a fan whatsoever!

I'm going back to classic pitching. Call me crazy but this just feels the most organic. You just try and place your pitches and if your guy is good and isn't fatigued, it's usually a decent pitch. But I'm playing as the Orioles so I need all the pitching help I can get.

Anyone else not a fan of the pulse pitching?

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

I wasn't a fan of Pulse Pitching in the first game I played. It was on the Vita, so I"ll have to see how it is on the PS3. I just didn't like staring at that pulsing circle and I seemed off every time while pitching. I had to concentrate on pressing X when the circle was the biggest in order to get it to register a small accurate pitch and that was too counter-intuitive.

Same here. I've only played one game so far (with CC Sabathia for the Yanks), but found that there seemed to be little correlation between when I hit the button and how big the circle was.

I'll definitely stick with it, though, in the hope that eventually I'll be able to discern the timing!

              Not good with it.

My pitches were all over the place, I walked a lot, and allowed two homeruns as well.

Played a couple of games with it so far, but haven't had success with it. I will try to tweak my sliders to see if that helps, but the pitches feel too random for me. For now I will stick to meter, but good to see so many people enjoy pp.

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

Is anyone else having trouble getting k's? I've pitched with Halladay, Romero, Matt Moore, and Weaver (mostly strikeout guys) and just haven't been able to bury hitters. They always seem to foul off my best pitches. I'm only playing on veteran. Any tips?

If they put in AUTO hitting as an option this year...and just let me pitch. I may actually give up manage only mode.(probably not...I love that mode too much)

Wow, just started my first game, Rangers/Halos with Feliz pitching, and this pulse pitching is definitely gonna take some getting used to, but I think I like it so far.

For the guys who are gonna try again and stick with it practice mode is your friend. The first thing i did when i fired the game up was go into pitching practice and not just hop into a game. Selected A.J. Burnett and did about 10 practice sessions to get used to this new feature. Now i'm in a game Cards vs Rockies and pitching with Carpenter and doing well through 3 innings. Pitching with an ace feels slightly easier than with Burnett. I do stress the word slightly or maybe its just me. Either way i'm loving it.

After playing a few more games with pulse pitching, I love this new feature. One of the things I really love about it how it makes pressure situations just that more intense. Like right now I'm playing as the Rangers against the Tigers with Derek Holland, got a 1 run lead, facing Prince with the bases loaded 2 outs. That AB was a pressure cooker if there ever was one.
