I'm sad. Late July I was injured and placed on the 60-day DL. Our team made it to the AAA Championships and lost too... I couldn't even participate.

Yep. Same thing happened to me. I had to watch the team go the championship game as well.

That said, I really like the fact that your player can get injured and be out for the year. A nice element of realism.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

In June of my first year as a CF for the Twins AA minor-league team. Hitting above .340 with 13 HRs and 63 RBIs.

One very interesting thing happened to me though as I somehow injured myself during batting practice. I was surprised to find that I hurt myself seeing I was replaced before the game even started. I thought it was cool that could happen regardless. Only missed a few games.

Another thing about batting practice that I don't understand is that I'm a switch hitter, but when I'm facing a lefty, the BP pitcher is a righty. Is this how they actually do it in baseball, or am I missing something?

You do know Henry Sosa was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball not too long ago? He has fallen off, but who is to say he doesn't still have something, especially in a video game?

Well, I'm starting up a new RTTS to keep me busy until the full minors are released what position should I be? Has anyone tried third base?

Into August of my first year as CF for the Twins. Got called up to the Show from AA just after the All-Star Break. Then they didn't play me for two and a half weeks and traded Morneau for Cepedes. Started my first game as the 1B. Had two doubles and a 422 ft HR to Centerfield in four at bats.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

So a few weeks back I made a 2nd baseman for the Marins. After tearing it up in AA I was promoted to AAA pretty quick and hit a wall. Tanked like hitting .220 with no HRs etc just awful. Over the last 2 weeks in AAA I started heating up, got the avg up close to .300.

Now I got it to .306 with 7 Hrs and like 35 RBI and over 10 steals...feeling good that I'll get the call to the majors soon and what happens...I GET TRADED TO THE CARDINALS!!!!!

                    Nooooooooooooooooooooooo Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Very sad, don't like the Cards.

Is there "ask for trade option" once you make it to the big leagues of something?

How many of you play fielding and baserunning opportunities? At first, I did, but as time has gone on and on, I've ended up only playing my player's hitting. I assume that once I get called up to the Blue Jays I'll play a bit more.

What do you guys do, though?

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

After running through a few positions I decided to make a first baseman who was drafted by the Pirates(Ugh) and so far have been tearing up AA. Hitting .489 with 5 HR's and 12 RBI's after 11 games. My biggest hit so far was a solo shot in the top the tenth inning of a 2-2 game to give us the lead and eventually the win 3-2.

I only play my hitting because I am slow so no point in trying to steal or anything like that and fielding at first base doesn't require much work so I just sim that too.

EDIT: Loving Nelson Cruz's batting stance, very easy to use.
EDIT 2: A huge game for me just now. Down 7-4 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and the bases loaded I drive one through the gap to drive my 2nd and 3rd RBI's of the game in to bring it to 7-6 and we ended up winning 8-7.

Do you guys watch the whole games? I only do the all plays my player is involved in. I don't think I could deal with doing the whole game till im in the bigs.

I do all at bats and all fielding opportunities. I play RF, so i get maybe 6-8 fielding opportunities per game. I don't like baserunning because its difficult to pick up the ball when it's hit. I tried baserunning in AA, but ended up being a big liability for my team.

Quick question guys.....I'm using Jose Bautista's batting stance in my RTTS, but everytime I hit a home run I am not seeing the one handed signature over the shoulder home run swing that he always does...I have hit over 30 home runs already and still have not seen it....anybody know why???
