Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

3B, drafted by the Brewers! Booooooo! My player is sloooooow and not very strong, even though I went with more of a power hitter than a contact hitter.

I started with Timing/All-star for hitting, then dropped down to Timing/Veteran and now I believe to Timing/Rookie. Can't wait to get my contact hitting rating up higher so I stop seeing all these perfectly-timed swings missing balls right through the middle of the zone.

I started off my career with a 4-5 game with 3 doubles and single and 2 or 3 rbi. Since then, I've fallen way off, hence the changes to the hitting difficulty level. I'm now batting about .280, 1 HR, 37 RBI, 31 SO in 160 AB.

Only complaint so far is the number of bunts in the game when you decide to create a 3rd baseman. It's pretty ridiculous how many AA players are trying to bunt for singles; that won't get you called up very quickly.

My one highlight so far is robbing a shot down the line and throwing the guy out at first. Will be uploading that video soon!

It's always annoyed me. I'll be on an absolute tear, we'll have a day off between series, and then one of the games in the next series the manager sits me! Frustating.

Consecutive hits is frustrating too because the manager would pinch hit me rather than put me in the lineup to begin with when I am absolutely killing it every game. I broke the record in '09, but when I got to 35 games or so, I had to turn off the auto-save so I could go back to a previous save if the manager wanted to use me as a pinch hitter for some reason.

Little update on Kenny Powers: he finished the rest of his season in AAA, with a 7-3 record (something like that) with a 3.2 ERA, 60 something K's. Signed a 1 year contract to be a starter in AAA, hopefully moving up to the show in a couple months, and please please please get traded to a better team. The orioles are atrocious in my rtts.

After hitting 43 homers in AAA I was expecting to get called up and join the team during there run at the playoff and face those hated Yankees and red sox...I get trade to the last place marlins for Jose reyes, that sucked I really wanted to play with the rays and put them over the hump and win the div. well hey at least I got called up to the show sooner and I get the chance to play at the new stadium but first I have a long rOad trip ahead before making home debut

What difficulty are you playing on bro? 43 bombs is pretty nice, but its weird that they would trade a young monster of a prospect approaching the post season. Hopefully that was a hiccup in the "Improved Trade Logic".

That doesn't sound weird at all. A team making a push for the payoffs is far more likely to trade a high end prospect for an established star than a team who is out of the hunt.

You should be proud they traded a young prospect for Jose Reyes! That's pretty awesome. Glad to see trades and contracts are being made for stat production and not so much skill ratings.

Made my SP last night. I have a 4 seam, change up, and a curve ball. Only played 2 starts. I think my ERA is like 1.20 or something along those lines. I'm loving pulse pitching!
