The thing I don't get about this trade is that I was blocked by Miguel Cabrera at 3rd in Detroit, but now I'm blocked by Evan Longoria at 3rd for the Rays.

    Maybe i'll get traded again?
To the Jays and get blocked by Lawrie lol

Lol I wouldn't be surprised by that even though it would be a trade within the Same Division.

On a sidenote: As predicted as soon as I get traded to the Durham Bulls, we go on a 4 game losing streak and now the lead in the division is down to 2 games, down from 6! I must be a bad luck charm.

Bulls suck. I'm on their team right now and I lost after giving up 2 runs one game(I left the game after giving up only 1 run,but my manager wanted to change my guy in the 7th even though there was only 1 guy on 1st!), and the other games that get simmed(cause I'm a SP) the team loses like 60% of these games.

If you start the game them "exit" it will sim to end and you will get any points the guy earned - probably less then if u played but more then just mass simming

what do most people do regarding difficulty level and sliders?
I'm running an RTTS and a franchise with the same difficulties and slider sets.

I'm skimming through this thread seeing everyone put up monster stats and my little ol 2b is only batting .305 two weeks into the season.

And is it just me or do AA pitchers throw a larger percentage of strikes? Same sliders in my franchise I am able to draw multiple walks per game but so far every pitch I see is a strike. Do they just not respect me?

If you want to make sure you play for the Tigers, just keep an extra save in case you screw up. When you get traded, load your most recent save (a trade will NOT cause an Auto-Save), go to settings, set injuries to manual, go to the disabled list, give your player a six day stomach ache (I roleplay this in my head and imagine he chugged a bottle of tequila) and voila, you can't be traded.

The Reds traded me over and over and over in my first year while I'm playing in AAA for the Bats. It was at the trade deadline. I gave myself a tummy ache that would last until August 1st and, lookie there, I'm a Redleg for life.

I know that's not quite realistic, but I play the game for fun and I love my Reds. I want to break Rose's hit record in GABP over a long, fruitful career. No interest in playing elsewhere.

                  Have fun!

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Hey everybody. I am new here and thought I would chime in with my statistics now that I have finished my first full season in the majors with my RTTS player. I had originally been drafted by the Phillies, but I was eventually traded to the Pirates for Jason Grilli. I played almost a full season in Double-A except for the last month where I was called up to Triple-A. I started the next season on the bench in the MLB and I became the starting third baseman for Pittsburgh after my second advancement period. Here are my stats after my first full season:

                    AVG: .278
                    AB: 424
                    Hits: 118
                    Doubles: 28
                    Triples: 5
                    HR: 26
                    Runs: 46
                    RBI: 96
                    BB: 20
                    SO: 24
                    SLG%: .552
                    OBP: .305

I won the NL Rookie of the Year Award and also finished 8th in the NL in RBI. I didn't qualify for SLG%, otherwise I would have finished 3rd in the NL.

Anyway, I thought I would introduce myself and my RTTS player. I am trying to increase some other attributes to make my player more complete, like contact, speed and discipline. Right now I am mainly just a pure power hitter but I am hoping to start stealing some bases and drawing more walks. I will try to stay current on the forum and see how everybody else is faring. Chances are I will be done with my second full season in about a week.

I wouldn't suggest doing that, honestly. I have done it before and it seems like you hardly get any training points to use. Your player's attributes will start declining before you know it and you won't be able to afford to increase them, let alone meet your goals. If you fail to meet 3 out of the 4 goals in consecutive weeks, I believe you will be demoted in some way, shape or form.

If you do want to get traded, I would suggest going to the 'Interactions' section and asking your manager for a trade whenever possible. Even if he says, "trading you would only hurt this team", I still think the possibility of getting traded is greater if you interact with him in that regard.

It's funny because my manager for the Pirates kept telling me that trading me would hurt the team (I asked him about five or six times), but they ended up trading Andrew McCutchen, who is a heck of a lot more valuable to that team than I am.

All in all, I would suggest just interacting with your manager and not simulating. If you do simulate games, I would only do a few games at a time and not a full season or even half a season.

I like how in my last 10 games I'm batting .380 with 6 HRs and 11 RBIs and it still shows me on a cold streak.

Edit: make that 7 HR's and 13RBI. Just hit a 2 run shot.

My guy is into his third season overall and his first full time at the MLB level. So far his career has been a little strange. He spent last season up and down with the Washington Nationals hitting .290ish and then got traded to the Cardinals at the break. Spent a 3 week period at AAA, long enough to pass goals and was given a bench role in the bigs. 2 weeks into that and was given the starting job over Freese. He rocked September hitting .325 or so with 7 bombs. Next season he was given the starting job. He is hitting .330 or so right now and is closing in on the allstar break. The Cards suck right now though.

Strange thing I have going this season though is that he is hitting .450 or higher at home and on the road is below .200. It is a crazy split. I haven't had that happen before. I have had seasons before where R/L splits were like that though.

Last note...the manager interactions are making me want to throw my controller through the screen. I keep asking to be moved to another position, but the manager refuses to move me. We have the world series MVP riding the pine, while we start a schmuck behind the dish, at SS, and at 2B...WTF!!! Just let me play another position already!!!!! I wonder what the magic formula for that is, does your guy have to have high fielding stats and have the position as a secondary or what?

Took long enough. Finally got traded off the Rays(I'm top 5 player on the team, and still on AAA cause they can't make room for me on 40 man roster!).

                            Traded for Hosmer.

I'm the best SP on the Royals now, but still in AAA! Is keeping Lugo and Fontenot in AA on your 40 man roster really better than me....

                              Sorry man!
I've been stuck on the Royals for five years now.
I too, was traded for Hosmer!
It's been brutal watching this team finish 20+ games back every year despite my 30/30 .300+ seasons.
I got injured my second season so I think that year didn't count towards my free agency.
I might have to spend two more years in KC!

^In my RTTS, Royals are actually leading the wild card! So if I were on their team, they'd be even better!

Sucks that the rule 5 eligibility is like 4 years or something? Cause I know I'd get picked up right away if I was eligible, and would be forced on their mlb team.

Can you chose to sign on the 40 man roster or what? Cause my contract expires again this offseason(my guy will be 20) and I don't believe I can sign with other teams yet, so is there any way to force my way into the 40 man roster?
