Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Continuing my RTTS I randomly stopped playing awhile ago....

What happens in AAA! My guy is the 5th best pitcher on the Rays team, though I'm in AAA, I dominated AA so badly(lead in all pitching categories). I go to AAA and now suddenly my guys letting up hit after hit each inning.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Well I started a new season of RTTS. My pervious I was a SP in that made the major right after the MLB ALL-Star game. So I decided to restart on a tougher settings. I am going 2 try not get the skill advancement goals and see if I can stay in the minors. I like some realism and being 18yrs old in the Major just wasnt my cup of tea.

        RTTS Season 1:

I made another lefty starting pitcher who is 18 yrs old, 6'0, 167lbs. Bats right. I am using pitching style 3 & Brandon Phillips batting stance. I made him high stamina, control and balanced.

I was drafted/Free Agent signed by The New York Yankees (least its not the cardinals, Reds fan here).

I already had a 4 seam fastball, changeup and a slider. I added a Sinker ball w/my points and at a later date will add Running Fastball as my fifth pitch.

I will be starting my career with The Trenton Thunder in the 5th starting pitcher spot. My first start is at home vs The Portland Seadogs.

My personal goal of development for Season 1

4 Seam Fastball : get ACC to 90 and then increase velocity 4 rest of season
Changeup : put all points i put into ACC wherever that ends up
Slider: increase ACC to 80 and then increase break rest of the season
Sinker: learn and then put points into ACC
Running Fastball : learn and increase velocity to 80 rest of points into break
Durablility : into the 80's if not higher
Speed: in the 30's at least so I can cover the bag quicker

Stay tuned I will post results in a few hours

I have a RTTS baserunning question.

When I hit a ball into the gap and run to 2nd base I'll hear someone yell "Three three three!". Is that my base coach telling me to go for a triple or the defensive yelling to throw to 3rd?

Every time I request a trade the coach basically says no, if I keep asking will it eventually be granted or do I have to wait for free agency?

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Got called up straight to the majors from double just before the all star break of my first season.

A week later I was the every day starter, I ended up winning rookie of the year.

                  BA: .385
                  H: 97
                  At Bats: 252
                  HR: 11
                  RBI: 64
                  SB: 13
                  CS: 2
                  OBP: .427
                  SLUG%: .523
                  OPS: .950
                  E: 2

Year 2 on the nationals has just begun and I am the everyday starter.. Was offered a 3 year 1.2m contract and I bumped it up to a 10 year 5.3m contract since money doesn't mean much.

After the first week of the season I'm hitting in the 2 hole and making good progress.

Okay, I am a second year ( 2015 ) as the full time stater on the Marlins at 1st base. I was asked to play in the home run derby, I lost, I played in the All Star game as the starter for the NL at 1st base we lost. Finished the year BA .321 47 HR's 126 RBI's and voted NL MVP. We won the NL East Division Tittle 90-72 .We played the Reds and the Dodgers to get the World Series and lost the Rangers in 6 games. I was rewarded with a 3 year 27 million contract with the Marlins 2016-2018, so far so good, this game is awesome fun !!!

                      That does sound awesome.
I can't wait to get on a winning team.
The fun levels of this game will jump through the roof!
In 4 years stuck on the Royals we only finished over .500 once and 3 times have finished 20+ games back.

                        I have a couple observations/complaints.
I'm not going to tackle the glitch thread to see if anyone else has these "problems".

Currently in year 2015 or 2016.
-The schedule is off by a day.
Weekend series go from Sat to Mon now.
Not a big deal, but annoying at the same time.

-Occasionally on a steal attempt the catcher will miss the pitch. It rolls to the backstop and he's frozen. The base runner still can run all the way home, but the game won't advance. You have to power off or eject the game to get out. It happens every 20 games or so and only when I attempt steals.
To protect myself from major anger moments, once I hit a homer or have an rbi, I don't attempt a steal that game.

my guy keeps getting sent back down, apparently for no reason. I start off as AA starter, work my way up to AAA starter and after spring training the following season I'm back as AA starter, or bench. Meeting nearly all of my goals over the course of a season, but after a new year I'm back to square one. It's happened 3 seasons in a row.

Through My 1st 15 Games and 61 AB's at AAA Toledo I'm hitting:

                              22 Hits
                              .361 AVG
                              3 HR
                              12 RBI
                              .375 OBP
                              .574 SLG
                              2 BB
                              8 SO

Thoughts: Anytime a runner is on first it feels like no matter what I'll hit into a double play and it's getting really frustrating. Other thoughts, when I got called up we were up by 2 games, now my team is 4 games back! Arrggh, I just want to win dammit.

It just seems as if whenever I get to my first at bat of the game in the 2nd inning, my teams is already down 2 or 3 runs. The pitching for my team is terrible haha.

Just got traded to the Rays

                                Trade:

                                Tigers get James Shields(SP)

                                Rays(AAA) get Shawn Kintaudi(3B)

The thing I don't get about this trade is that I was blocked by Miguel Cabrera at 3rd in Detroit, but now I'm blocked by Evan Longoria at 3rd for the Rays.

                                Maybe i'll get traded again?

Sidenote: After the trade AAA Durham is up by 6 games in the division. Within 10 games I bet my team will be in second.
