I played through an entire career with the Rangers. I became eligible for FA after six seasons OF MLB SERVICE (meaning seasons spent in the minors don't count). You basically get offers from up to three teams at once. You can negotiate with each, but the frustrating thing is you have to do all your negotiating in one fell swoop. So if you're negotiating with, say, the Brewers, and you don't come to terms, then in 3 days if you decide to negotiate again you have to start back at their initial offer. After a few weeks, a team may withdraw their offer at which point another team may make an offer. In my experience you were only juggling up to three offers at once.

Once I hit the FA market, I left the Rangers for the Marlins. Oddly enough, I felt guilty for leaving the Rangers so after my two years with the Marlins I went back to the Rangers lol

In my RTTS ,The Marlins ( I start at 1st base ) were getting no hit by the Mets thru 7 2/3rds ( by the way I didnt realize it ) , 2 outs bottom of 7th and I lace a single to right field to break up the no no, sweet feeling but we lost the game 1-0 , dang.

BTW: Mr2Nice, I am glad your enjoying your RTTS, and your stats are nice... BUT ENOUGH ALREADY ... , Please a weekly update on your player would do, thanks from the peanut gallery!!

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I've had one running for a while with a random guy I created (using fake name generator). For the third year in a row I'm stuck in the Angels organization, but since the game likes to trade you around I'll hopefully move to another team. I built the kid to break the steals record, and he's pretty damn fast. Unfortunately his hitting is not that great. .265/.350/.320 but with 15 stolen bases in the first two months.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I lost my original two RTTS with the last patch.

But I just created a new one. He's a CF who was drafted by the Yankees. I originally intended to make him a Mickey Mantle clone, but that changed.

I edited him and now he's 6'2" 225. He uses Joey Votto's stance. I realized through a couple of games that his face looked like Adam Carolla. Carolla wasn't a callable name, so I chose Carona.

So now I am using Adam Carolla, CF, #8.

I was upset, I wanted to play for the Yankees, but they traded me for Ichiro.

My RTTS player was invited to the Home Run Derby for the 2016 season in Seattle at SAFECO Field representing the Miami Marlins of NL. I won the Home Run Derby with a grand total of 36 hrs in three rounds defeating Mark Trumbo of the Angels and my longest Home Run was 480 ft . I was voted the starter on the NL All Star team at 1st base, I went 1-3 but we lost again to the AL 4-2, it was cool just to play in the game though, The Show is amazing !!!

Quick question regarding fastball velocity. I have a SP and I'm in the rotation for the cubs. My fastball velocity is as at 99, but my fastball is 94-95 mph with an occasional 96. I was expecting to be sitting at 96-98 with maybe an occasional 100 since its not rare to see it in the MLB these days...Anyways I'm only 19 years old, could that be why? As I get older will my velocity increase even though it's already at the max?

it's most likely because your other pitches don't have as high of a velocity. it sounds stupid but if you have a fastball with 99 vel and two other pitches with low velocity your fastball won't be as fast. up the velocity on your other pitches and your fastball should speed up.
