Just played my first online game vs. fellow OS'er FlightWhite. Game was smooth as silk from beginning to end.

It's the first time in all my years of playing the Show I have had anything even close to a lag free game online.

Agreed. I've played about 12 games now and it's been pretty smooth. 100 times better than MLB 10 and 11. Those games had so much lag it was ridiculous.

You still have to do a tryout game for the DBFL. I will be free after 9pm est. Let me know if you're still interested.

What are the settings for OS online play? If someone can get me a link that would be great. I would like to get a tryout game. Thanks in advance

1. There is more of an input lag then there ever has been previously.
2. Default Pitch Speed slider is ridiculous. In past years I've had it at 4, it may need to be set at 3 this year. I'm playing online, work a 3-0 count and I end up getting gassed on a 90, a 92, and a 91 MPH fastball. The ball literally gets right on top of you like the gun is 6-7 MPH slow.
3. The Timing on Default has to be raised. I'm getting the feeling no contact is good contact. I play on HoF but I've been playing that since MLB 09. I know when the hitting feels off and it sure feels off to me.

The funny thing was the game connection was virtually solid green, no instance of stutter at all.

I am from Vienna, Austria and have been importing this game since the 08 version.

Since then I've been playing two online games every year: my first and my last one.

The game was simply unplayable. With a lag I`ve last experienced in any game in the late 1990s.

I thought my problems were amplified by the fact that the game has zero support in Europe and hence there were no servers for european players.


Yesterday I played what should have been my two online games with MLB 12.

And see what: I had a blast!

The game was silky smooth with only one nagging issue: Just before the ball entered my hitting zone it disappeared and only reappeared a second after I had hit (or mis hit***) the ball. This looks really strange and one can argue that this is a game breaker.

But as there was no lag and the ball disappeared only an instant before you had to hit it, you could judge the location and break

So even with zone analog hitting I had 4 hits in a 3 inning game and won 1:0.

I am sure it was already discussed here but I am honestly too lazy to read the whole thread:

1. Is this problem with the disappearing ball a constant issue? And if not: It depends on what?

2. Can you alter your batting cam in online games? I am used to a customized fully zoomed in catcher view. I don`t like to play online with another view.

Usually some lag that strongly favors pitching.

In one situation, I swung and missed at a ball but the lag caused it to not register my swing and I got a walk.

Default pitch speed online is slow...100 mph fastballs are really like 88 mph coming in. This isn't little league. You can't just adjust to each pitch and expect to turn on it. Fastballs come in at .45 seconds roughly. You have to pretty much tell yourself to swing early.

is anyone else freezing online every other game since the patch? i can play one game, then the next it will freeze in 1st inning.

Yeah, 4 games in a row with someone in my league. All in the first inning as well.

I had the same issue and found that it's caused by using the behind the pitcher view. I get a freeze every time I choose any of the behind the pitcher views. If I pitch from 'Catcher' view then the game runs fine. This needs to be fixed by Sony ASAP!

online leagues have been impacted with this latest patch and hopefully they address this as well

there is no behind pitcher view I thought do you mean broadcast??
