Mine is at 3 I suck at the plate this yr. I will say this though bout 2k I will probably get blasted lol but I love their batting camera-default pitch speed and sometimes it tells ya the pitch right before its pitched sometimes not idk y. I downloaded the demo even though I hate the game but thats the only thing I would take from them is the batting camera and pitch speed all that. You can actually tell if its gonna be a ball or strike

33 votes so far and not a single vote for above default with most below it. Maybe the Show devs should consider dropping the default speed even more since most people (so far), even on a hardcore place like OS, consider the default speed too fast.

Default pitch speed works great for me using pure analog batting on all star difficulty.

Im with NYJin on this one. Had it at default and hit 2 early HRs w/ Gordon and Moustakas, but then nothing...gonna flirt with pitch speed on 4 for a game, hopefully some more offense will follow...

Still at default. I always try everything I can before I lower pitch speed. I am using offset catcher which has helped me pick up the ball.

I also start looking for pitches which has helped me catch up to fastballs. If I am thinking fastball first I can usually catch up. If I am looking for an off speed pitch later in an AB I will be behind the heat, so it's kinda like real baseball in that regard.

In a weird twist, i turned up my pitch speed to 4 from 2, and i find i'm hitting a TON better. The weirdest thing is i started at 4 and hit fine but for some reason decided to turn it down to 2(?). Apparently, that was a bad idea, must have thrown my timing off...

I had to do the same thing with the Vita version. At first, default was too fast so I lowered the slider to 2, but then I was out in front of everything and am now at 4 and that is perfect.

For the PS3 version, I've used 3 since Day One and think I'll stay there.

There is no way default is real-life speed; but still awful fast. There is a reason why so few actually make it to the majors compared to how many play baseball. I have it set at 0 at the moment to get used to it again as it has been ages since I've played a baseball game consistently. Hopefully I can get it back up to 3 or 4 soon.

I'm at zero and I still swing late on high speed fastballs ... it all depends on the player. There's no shame in it.

I think the default pitch speed is more real to life, it is just really that hard to hit a baseball coming in at 98 mph. I do not believe the speed needs to be played with at all, we can just adjust to our individual skill set.

Same here, using default and that seems realistic to me.

Mine is strange.

At 4 I'm usually late on pitches
At 3 I'm usually early on pitches


What do people recommend I do?
