Re: Your setting for pitch speed
I did not create this thread to state that the default pitch speed should be lower being that I feel it is fine and that's why we have sliders I was just curious to see where everyone else was at. I am very surprised to see how many of you on these boards have it set to zero. I'm going to keep it at default for a while and if I just can't hit at all then I'll drop it down to 4. I'll tell you one thing though going up a pitcher with a upper 90's fastball and a mid 80's changeup on the default setting has got to be the hardest thing for any of us to hit against.Last edited by JayD; 03-10-2012, 02:43 AM.Comment

Which ever the default is. I feel like I'm cheating if I lower it.Comment

Re: Your setting for pitch speed
5 minutes ago I had it on 3, but this thread made me realize that the pitch speed (according to devs) is actually slower this year, so I put it back at default and so far so good (and I'm facing Ubaldo Jimenez - no cake walk). I recommend others give it a shot. Lowering pitch speed definitely helped me get into the flow of things at the plate, but once you're comfortable you'd be surprised how less scary default pitch speed can be.Comment

Re: Your setting for pitch speed
I've been playing on 4, but this thread made me curious what pitches look like with the speed slider maxed out. Surprisingly, recognizing pitches and timing them wasn't too difficult. I beat the White Sox 5-4 playing as the Indians, getting a homer and a couple doubles with 12 hits total. Not exactly a feat against a team like the Sox (
), but pitch speed felt fine. I recommend that anyone using default pitch speed try maxing out the slider. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Re: Your setting for pitch speed
"Catcher Classic" cam has helped me a ton. It's a little lower than the new default cam, and therefor easier for me to pick up the ball.
Still on default speed.Comment

I've done the unthinkabale. I'm playing with pitch speed at 10. And I'm not going back any lower. I just find I'm able to read pitches here better. Not out infront of many fbs like I was before. Also increased user contact to 6 as well.

Re: Your setting for pitch speed
I just do not have the patience to wait on offspeed pitches so I have pitch speed on max when playing on a SD TV, but when I play on an HD TV, I have it on 4 because the slight input lag (even on game mode!) makes it impossible to read and hit inside fastballs when the batter and pitcher are the same-handednessBakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment
