Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hi there!
I desperately need advice on the following:
I've made some free agent signings and trades before the start of my first season with the RedSox, and I think I've made some mistakes, that I need to correct. I have problem with my pitching, especially with my Bullpen:
Starting Rotation:
Lester
Beckett (out for 2 months)
Buchholz
Oswalt
Lackey
DiceK (in for Beckett now, he might stay in the rotation for Lackey who might go down, when Beckett is back)
I'm content with my starters, I do like the players, and I like pitching with them.
But my bullpen is a different story:
- Ogando (traded for Jenks and a C prospect, now has 3.80 ERA, but he's been overused, usually after 3-4 solid relief innings, he gave up some runs)
- Aceves (he is a beast, has under 2.00 ERA)
- Bard (He is good also, has under 2.00 ERA)ű
- Bailey (19/18 in saves, 0.80 ERA)
This was the good part, now here comes the problem:
- Fuentes (he's a good lefthander, but gave up some game ending runs against lefties. I use him as a late inning lefty specialist, but it doesn't work out for him. He has over 4.00 ERA, and I really started to dislike him. He is a bad trade candidate, because he is old)
- Bastardo (traded for Matt Albers, he's also a good lefty, but just does not work. over 4.00 ERA. He is a B prospect, young so a good trade candidate)
I also used the following pitchers without success: Atchison, Hill, Padilla, Melancon.
I have Miller and Morales waiting for their callup this season.
My question is: out of the following pitchers, witch 3 I should use, or who I should trade. My only expectation is, that I want to have two lefties in the bullpen...
Fuentes, Bastardo, Atchison, Hill, Padilla, Melancon, Miller and Morales
Thanks in advance!Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yes, the primary setup man is Daniel Bard. (I dont like him starting, and I think today's start against the Tigers will be his last this year IRL)
Long relievers are Ogando and Aceves. Fuentes would be a specialis, especially with the sidearm motion of his.
With Bastardo I'm not sure yet. I was thinking about trading him, but all I can get is B prospects, but he is a B prospect also, so it would not be a step forward. Maybe I will give them time until the end of the year.
Melancon has over 7.00 ERA in about 20 innings, he is in AAA right now, but he might come back...Comment
