Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So since you guys don't really think the Hernandez trade would be a good idea, what other younger ace pitcher would you suggest? ( I want him to be 28 or younger with very good K/9 potential. ) I'm not really playing for realism, just trying to be fair and keep my inseason trades to 3 a season at most.. (well i'm realistic to where I will not trade for a vet from a contending team and I wont take prospects from a rebuilding team.) I'm using Scotts post deadline rosters. Teams out of it are..
Mets, Phillies, Miami, Brewers, Cubs, Astros, Diamonbacks, Padres, Rockies, Mariners, Athletics, Royals, Orioles, Rays... Some of the teams are not totally out of it, but the writing is on the wall being way back and most having some key injuries.Comment

Phillies: Cliff Lee isn't young...
Miami: Ricky Nolasco? Josh Johnson?
Brewers: No one, really.
Cubs: Garza.
Astros: Ha.
D-Backs: Not sure they'd trade anyone.
Rockies: Haha, ha, ha... No.
Mariners: Vargas?
Athletics: McCarthy.
Royals: To even say they have pitching is generous.
O's: Britton.
Rays: Davis."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

those two are the only ones that would realistically be defined as *ace* and fit your age criteria....for my #2's list, Bud Norris, Edison Volquez, Brandon McCarthy, Jake ArrietaSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

What would A coming off injury Josh Johnson cost who is 2-1 with a 3.4ish era. Matt Garza is 4-5 with A 4.24 ERA I believe.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Is a 3.06 ERA 1.15 WHIP Peavy worth 2 B's?
I was thinking:
Dwight Smith Jr. (Kid is a beast and at 19, hitting .285 in Double A. Shame I don't have any room for him.)
Brett Cecil (Don't laugh! He has a 3.30 ERA this year in triple A and is pretty MLB ready. I've been working on his velocity, which helps a LOT.)"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Smith Jr. was the best pure hitter in the 2010 draft. Dad played for the Cubbies.
I want to get rid of him because he's young, tearing up Double A, and quite frankly, I don't have room for him in the future. So, naturally, I'd like to maximize my return for him."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
