Any levelheaded rangers fan would take Price for Hamilton in a heartbeat.
Price is younger, has more team control and is a true #1 which is not easy to find

Hamilton's ZiPS projections for this year are not pretty.... 26 homers, like a .267 AVG, are the two that stood out. And losing value in RF. I mean, the Angels basically traded Haren and Santana('s salaries) for Hamilton, which is good, but still...

Price has 3 years of control and is a true ace, he's great, so agreed here.

Red Sox Get:
Andrew McCutchen
A bum to fill the trade

Why I think it Works:
Pirates: They get an ace they've been looking for, an outfielder with a ceiling of Cutch. Another high ceiling player. And another OF prospect for him.

Red Sox: We get a HIGHLY talented OFer to replace Ellsbury who I traded.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Keep in mind that Cutch signed a very team friendly extension a year ago or so meaning he's making about a dime of what someone like Ellsbury is in line for through free agency
