Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

So when the OS rosters come out I think I'm going to be running as the Mariners because I love their young talent in Smoak, Ackley, Montero, and the pitchers. My first order of business though will be to trade the 2 players that I've never been able to produce with: King Felix and Ichiro.

I'm thinking of trading Felix to Tampa in exchange for D. Jennings and a couple of their pitching prospects (Felix loves pitching against the Yankees). I'm not too sure what to try and get for Ichiro though. What do you guys think for both players?

Love the game, but they really need to bring back the feature that allows us to save games in progress during Exhibition - I don't know how many times I've had my wife tell me that we have to go and do something, and my game is lost!

i also moved jose bautista for mike stanton. that worked out a little better. my core is very young.
I'm not really sure i'd do that bautista trade but that's just me.

          for King Felix, it'd be Jennings(sounds like u really want him) and 2 A prospects....for Ichiro, i'd ask for 2 B prospects

I made a few trades in my Red Sox franchise. I traded Lester to the Cards for Carpenter, but thats mainly because I always get rocked everytime I pitch with Lester. I traded Youk for Michael Young of the Rangers, and I picked up Torii Hunter cant I cant remember for who right now

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Ive started franchise with the mets and i want to get rid of some my vets for some younger players with at least b potential. I have santana, dickey, and a few others on the block.

I have a few trades available to me i was wondering what you guys think is the best move.
1st trade is dickey and aa prospect b pot for justin masterson
i could also get ervin santana or max scherzer or anibal sanchez for dickey and prospect. which would be the best pitcher to get? im looking for young talent that can grow.

Or this other trade dickey two aa prospects b pot for cargo and de la rosa

I like cargo hes young and a stud and de la rosa is a pretty good starter. Im also not to worried about the prospects because for santana thats probably what ill get back. What do you guys think cargo trade or the 1st trade? thx in advanced.

No chance any of ur proposed trades would go down....a 37-year old knuckleballer isn't gunna fetch much in trades much less guys of Cargo's status....all those pitchers u just named are still relatively young...why would they take back Dickey?

Oh i tested them they go thru i just never saved the franchise after i made the trade cause i wasnt to sure which trade to do. Cargo in my franchise is hitting 200 i dont know if thats why there getting rid of him but they are lol

It says the trade works with what there trying to do which is rebuild. Anyways whats your opinion? should i get cargo or get one of the young arms?

p.s just shows that trade logic is still pretty bad

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Ok, I am the Red Sox, and I want to upgrade pitching and add a power hitting outfielder to compliment Jacoby and Crawford. I am willing to move either of those guys to another outfield position to acommodate, and to a lesser extent I'd like to upgrade with a speedy shortstop, but that isn't a priority, and I think I'm going to get Iglesias from AAA. It is just impossible to hit with Ross. Im in mid June and a few games over .500.
                      I will not give up:
                      Lester
                      Gonzalez
                      Pedroia
                      Will give up willingly:
                      Ross
                      Anderson
                      DiceK
I would also be willing to trade anyone else for the right price, but I'd like to try and keep Youk for the DH role, because Middlebrooks (who I found in the vault and edited to my liking) is in AAA also. Thanks

Only guy out of the 3 that has any halfway-decent trade value is Anderson....Dice-K is done and Ross is a platoon guy.....by a power-hitting OF, u mean Kemp? Braun? Stanton? etc....if so, it's gunna be real hard....even more so considering, the current rosters dont have REAL minor-leaguers.....with things the way they are now, u could always package Doubront, Lavarnway and Anderson for one of those kinda guys i just brought up

When the OSFM roster comes out I'm looking for young left side infielders for the Pirates. 1-2.5 years out.

At SS I like Tim Beckham of Tampa Bay. '08 #1 overall pick, considered a bust by some and major disappointment by the rest. Real life consensus seems to be they either need to call him up by the All-Star break or send him somewhere else. Some project him as more of a 2B at the MLB level. Suggestions for another player are welcome.

At 3B, I don't have anyone in mind. I would like good power and above average defense if possible. Power is the priority. I could go up in age for this position but nobody currently over 30. Could David Wright be a possibility? I know I would have to pay him a big contract to keep him.

The only guy currently at MLB level I won't get rid of is McCutchen.

Prospects I want to keep are:

                          SP - Gerrit Cole
                          OF - Josh Bell
                          OF - Starling Marte
                          C - Tony Sanchez (probably only a C prospect)

Good potential prospects that I could part with:

SP - Luis Heredia (I would like to get rid of him)
                          SP - Jameson Taillon
                          SP/CP - Stetson Allie
                          SP - Kyle McPherson

Ideally I would only have to get rid of 2 of these guys but could part with 3.

MLB players I would like to part with who also have some trade value:

SP - A.J. Burnett (at the deadline to a contender?)
                          CP - Joel Hanrahan
                          RF - Jose Tabata (23 y/o A prospect)

                          Looking for realistic trades!

It pains me that you want to trade Felix away. Jennings, Hak Ju-Lee, and Matt Moore. Lee would be ideal for the Mariners since they have the aging Brendon Ryan unless you promote Nick Franklin

While a lot of the major publications have Taillon and the Pirates' best prospect, not everyone agrees and I'm one of them.

Here's a good article comparing the two if you're interested.
                                http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index...james-taillon/

I also like that Gerrit Cole has experience being the ace of a staff (UCLA).

I think Taillon has the most trade value and if Allie develops well I think he can be as good as Taillon. I also like McPherson's potential to be a good #2 or great #3.
