Exactly my point....your young guys will be there next year and the year after that....The same can't be said for your vets....Worry about the offseason when that time comes....U owe Chicago to field a competitive team and so far u seem to be holding up ur end of the bargain..Now go and see what pieces u can ADD and make a run at the playoffs

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Getting close to the trade deadline i search for teams that could be interested in veterans like Hudson or Jurrjens by selecting either one in my teams trade screen and going team by team and selecting young A & B potential talent that they're willing to give up mainly at 3rd base or center field and see if their interest bar almost fills up all the way and if so I'll try and work out a trade with that particular team. This is actually how I do most of my trades and I keep it as real as possible.Comment

So how is trading in this year's edition? Fair or do you need to do 32 team control?Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So once the OSFM rosters are finished, I'll start up my franchises. I'm planning on playing with Seattle and Pittsburgh in one of them. I've been doing some test runs with Seattle to test out different scenarios. I have a list of four position players that I'm interested in, and I'd love to hear anyone's opinions on possible trades. I don't worry too much about realism, but I am quite concerned with fairness.
Looking to acquire:
OF Chris Young - Diamondbacks
1B/OF Brandon Belt - Giants
3B Ian Stewart - Cubs
IF/OF Eric Young Jr. - Rockies
Actively looking to trade:
RF Ichiro Suzuki
3B Chone Figgins
SP Kevin Millwood (assuming he's on the roster)
Willing to trade:
C Miguel Olivo
LF Casper Wells
LF Mike Carp
Either 3B Kyle Seager or Alex Liddi
SS Nick Franklin
SP Jason Vargas
One of SP Danny Hultzen, Taijuan Walker, or James Paxton
Most of bullpen
Ian Stewart shouldn't be too difficult to acquire, and I may try to get Jeff Samardzija as well. With Chris Young and Brandon Belt, I'm thinking of waiting until July or so to see where their teams are. If they're rebuilding I may try to pull off a "three team trade" and ship out Ichiro and Figgins for prospects to deal to Arizona or SF.
Lastly, I would like to keep several speedy/pesky hitters in the lineup. Other than Eric Young Jr, does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to replace Brendan Ryan at SS at some point. I also have room for a 4th outfielder to grab a bunch of at-bats. When Montero catches I'll have Belt at 1B or DH.

Thanks. I have taken a look at Dee Gordon and I love his speed. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward giving Franklin a shot in '13. We'll see how it plays out.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In a last effort to shore up my catcher position with a defensive catcher (Soto is absolutely horrible for me), Kurt Suzuki was on the block.
I'm trying everything I can the A's don't seem to budge for any position besides a C in return and 3rd base. I like to keep trades realistic in terms of whats given up/given in return.
Cubs get:
C Suzuki
A's get:
C Soto
3B Ian Stewart
Sound fair for what I'm getting. I feel like maybe I shoud throw a mid-level prospect in there. C potential OF or P might do the trick eh?
EDIT: I am also looking for a LH utility type player who can pinch hit, play 2B, and play 3B sparingly. I just need another LH bat for my bench. I got 1 lefty and 4 righties.
I was thinking Chris Getz from the Royals. Maybe a swap for 2B Jeff Baker? He's 2 years older, but also cheaper and a little better hitter.Last edited by chicubsfan20; 03-17-2012, 12:32 PM.NFL: Green Bay Packers

I'll look at him, was thinking Chris Getz could play the role too. If I could get either for one of my IF's straight up or maybe a low level prospect it'd be ideal. I scanned the trade block and wasn't seeing any viable options besides more top-tier playersNFL: Green Bay Packers

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Obviously Getz is more younger and a smidge cheaper while Kennedy is more experienced....just depends on what kinda guy u wanna have.....and no, it wouldn't take much to acquire either guy....low-level prospect is sufficient for eitherSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

To Niles:
I guess i think of David DeJesus differently than u do....i see him as a C while u see him as a B...that's fine....i don't just look at a guy's overall rating and deem him accordingly....With the Pirates trade, Alvarez is supposed to be their franchise 3B, and Marte ETA to the majors could be sometime this year along with being rated the Pirates 3rd best prospect....Dewitt and Sappelt are nothing more then throw-in's imo.....ur missing the boat with the Trevor Miller trade.....i think u fail to realize that Familia is rated the 3rd best Mets' prospect.....u think they would trade him for a 38-year old soft-tossing situational lefty reliever?...As for your Marlins' trade, jus cause a guy is younger does not make him a better pitcher...who has accomplished more in his career...Zambrano or Maholm? enough said....Considering video games don't take in account real-life off the field issues, Zambrano is better than Maholm...No doubt nobody is arguing here....i guess i evaluate guys differently than u do.....Im not just going by a player's name but rather by what professional scouting services are saying about them so obviously i do value a prospect's potential and such....If u think your trades are fair, go for it.....As long as u enjoy playin the game, that's all that countsSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: Trade talk
i normally hate to trade within the division, but i was the jays and i picked up A-rod. cant remember for who, but it didnt work out, and he was gone before the trade deadline.
i also moved jose bautista for mike stanton. that worked out a little better. my core is very young.313rdComment
