Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Well the All Star break has just finished in my Cubs franchise. I sit five games out, but I don't see the point in being a buyer, as I just don't have the offense and I don't want to sacrifice a weak farm system. So my first order of business is Matt Garza.

Currently he is 5-8 with a 3.34 ERA (again no offense). The two teams that would seem to be most interested in his services would be the Rangers ( 3 game lead over Angels, injury bug, and top 3 starters are in the 4.50 - 5.40 ERA range) and the Royals ( 2 games up over Detroit, lacking a true #1)

So my question is, which team would give me the better/realistic package? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Cubs, Ducks, Bears, Bulls

I think the Rangers will be more likely to be a buyer than Kansas City. I don't think KC would be willing to sacrifice top guys for what may be a fluke season

In my Astros Franchise there's been an interesting offer I noticed while patrolling the transactions under my 30 team control.

The Phillies, who are 10.5 games out of first place in the middle of June have decided to offer the CPU Tigers Cole Hamels. Detroit, is leading the division by .5 games over Chicago and after JV/Drew Smyly...the whole Tigers staff has been awful. Fister has an ERA over 5, Porcello is at a 6.00 ERA, and Scherzer has a mid 4 ERA.

Hamels, is 5-7 with a mid 2 ERA and is 3rd in the NL in innings pitched and leading it in punchouts right now. And I think this would be something Detroit may consider digging deeper into. However, I need some help hammering this thing out.

The initial package looks like this:

PHI- SP Cole Hamels (5-7, 2.55 ERA)

DET- SP Jacob Turner (4-7, 2.91 ERA, A Pot) AAA ball
          3B Nick Castellanos (.286, 1HR, 19 RBI, A Pot) AA ball
1B Aaron Westlake (no stats, B Pot) A ball

Thoughts? I mean the Phils aren't going to be winning anything this year and I can understand their reasoning behind this, but at the same time...the Tigers would be giving up their 1 and 2 rated prospects for Hamels, plus another decent prospect in Westlake. What do you guys think? Should I allow this trade to go through? If not, is there any package you think would work? Or am I just crazy and I should veto it and forget this ever happened lol?
Tigers are giving up way too much for a half year rental

Edit: Ah damn I guess I'm too late as he already pulled the trigger I guess no one else helped me out earlier haha

If I were you I'd go Royals, better farm to pick from I'd ask for 3 B's

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

At the deadline in my Orioles franchise I currently sit 17 games back of the Rays so needless to say I'll be a seller. I only have 3 guys that are performing at a level that contending teams would want and they are:
              Adam Jones - .340 with 14 HR's
              Brian Roberts - .280 with 25 HR's
              Jason Hammel - 6-8 with a 3.23 ERA

The Rangers are currently 3 games back of the Angels and in need of outfield help (only Hamilton is having an above average season so far for them). Would an offer of Adam Jones and Hammel (they also need a solid 4th starter) for Mike Olt, Martin Perez and Leonys Martin be fair? Jones is only 26, under contract for 2 more years and having a great season so far.

Rangers are giving up a bit too much imo

I'd say one C for Shoppach if he puts up somewhat good numbers

Yeah I'd go one batter and one pitcher. So make it Olt/Martin plus Perez

I'd go Martin, Perez and Grimm back. Texas isn't trying to trade Olt or Profar anytime soon. Besides Adam Jones is a bit overrated as a player

                            Started up a Pittsburgh Dynasty,

Barmes (ss) and Barajas (Surprise!) (c) are killing me. Can anyone suggest a trade to make?

Im using Scott's rosters, and I do not have control of the cpu.
Im not super realistic, id rather enjoy playing with my team.

On a side note, Pedro is killing me in the field but i feel like i have to build my cornerstone around him... *sigh*. I guess i coud mov him for the right deal.

I dont want to give up Marte as the buccos have such few prospects(at least it seems so in this game/rosters), but mostly any other non-starter could move.

                            Suggestions?
                            Thanks!

Neither guy would net you more than a
C prospect each. What positions are you looking for in return?
