Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Courtney Hawkins, 20 piles of nothing, and then the rest of their list.
SpoilerCan I haz Olt & Profar?
No problem. Enjoying that beautiful team friendly contract and that winning attitude?
Anyways, back on topic. I'm pretty sure Jack Z comfirmed that they turned down a Yanks mega offer. Kershaw is worth AT LEAST three A's, that seems to be the consensus."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
OK, enough. If you want a nice debate, I'd love to. However, I don't want to clutter this thread. PM if you want to continue. Before the season, Sale. Then it transferred to Reed. Both are performing great at the MLB level, thank you. We've still got 3 more probably good to great RP's coming, two RF's that won't be stars but quality, a physically talented CF who isn't so raw anymore, a Chase Headley-like 3B...it isn't great but it doesn't need to be. We'll need to replace AJ and Paulie soon but that's about it for the next few years.Last edited by AC; 08-04-2012, 10:23 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
There is nothing to debate. You just somehow seem offended that your farm system, while admittedly good, is not comprised of all A level prospects. I am just saying that true A prospects are that rare! Even Olt is a B, granted like a B+++ but still not an A!Last edited by rjackson; 08-04-2012, 11:38 PM.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm pretty sure that Yankees offer was confirmed and was stacked:
Gardner, Nova, Betances, Montero, and Banuelos. Those were 5 highly touted A's back in the day and the Mariners turned it down. So yes they're are systems with 6 to 8 young A's. There isn't 20 in real life like you saidComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Olt should definitely be an A, you're fighting a fight that isn't happening, and you continue you drag this on. Please stop.
^This. Mason Williams might've been in there too, no? I forget. He'd be a high B back then.I'm pretty sure that Yankees offer was confirmed and was stacked:

No he was unsigned and only 15 or 16, I believe the other killer B might of been in there too. I can't remember his name. He's washed up as wellComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I see the problem. Look, all these names being offered up are blue chip to be certain. Nestor Molina, who was BA#3 in the Jay's system when traded was a blue chip. He is not an A. Any baseball scouting team member will tell you there are 20-30 A's, 200-300 B's, and 3,000 C's.
In summation, blue chip is not the same as an A. An A is projectable to MVP/Cy Young voting. Blue chips are projectable to regular starters on most teams.
If I cared enough, I'd source it for you but I do remember an interview on fangraphs 3-4 weeks ago. Feel free to look for it.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok listen we're talking about A's by the criteria in this game. There is around 100 A's in the Majors with about another solid 25 in the minors. You said there's about 20 A's in baseball. Strasburg, Cain, Bumgarner, Kershaw, Sabathia, JJ, Carpenter(when healthy), Felix, Zimmerman, Gonzalez, Price, Shields, Kimbrel, Trout, Harper, Cano, Longoria, Tulo, Wright, Granderson, Ellsbury, Gonzalez, Weiters, Pujols, Hamilton, Beltre, Cabrera, Fielder, Hosmer, McCutchen, Kemp, Posey, Molina, Holiday, Castro, Braun....... This is just a start. I think your trying to fight a battle that you can't win. Kershaw is worth 4 A's or moreI see the problem. Look, all these names being offered up are blue chip to be certain.
