Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I just started up a Mets franchise and I made some trades right out of the gate. Here they are:

Traded Jason Bay, Manny Acosta and Daniel Murphy to Chicago White Sox for Gordon Beckham, Alex Rios and Hector Santiago

Traded Frank Francisco and Ruben Tejada to Arizona Diamondbacks for JJ Putz and Stephen Drew

Traded a B-Potential prospect and a player to be named later to Philadelphia Phillies for John Mayberry, Jr.

Traded Bobby Parnell and a B-Potential pitching prospect to Washington Nationals for Brad Lidge and Sean Burnett

I am also currently in talks with several teams about dealing Andres Torres (since Torres is injury-prone and I can't risk any of my players getting injured; let another team deal with him).

I'm looking to upgrade my outfield and probably acquire an ace pitcher other than Santana, Pelfrey and Dickey. I'll give up any of my hitters except Stephen Drew, Gordon Beckham, and David Wright. Here are some of my trade targets:

    Outfield:

    Jay Bruce - Reds
    Nick Markakis - Orioles
    Delmon Young - Tigers
    Mike Trout - Angels
    Mark Trumbo - Angels
    Cameron Maybin - Padres
    Rajai Davis - Blue Jays
    Denard Span - Twins
    David DeJesus - Cubs
    Carlos Quentin - Padres

    Pitching:

    Brett Cecil - Blue Jays
    James Shields - Rays
    Justin Masterson - Indians
    Jair Jurrjens - Braves
    Trevor Cahill - Diamondbacks
    Gio Gonzalez - Nationals
    Jake Peavy - White Sox
    Gavin Floyd - White Sox
    Matt Garza - Cubs
    Jeff Samardzija - Cubs

Any ideas on who I'd have to give up to get one of my trade targets?

I just started it so he has already signed. So in this game, when you trade for a pretty big star player, and you have a team such as the Royals, if you can afford it is there a good chance they will re-sign with you in the off-season, or do they usually go elsewhere?

5 A's for Trout, stay away from Cecil. At a dinner, so that's all I can say ATM.

Does anyone really care where I sent this from?

Hey guys. I need to know what kind of prospects i could get out of these players. I'm the Phillies and am out of the playoff race. The teams that are in the hunt and could use these players are:

          Arizona
          LA Dodgers
          San Francisco

          LA Angels
          Texas
          Atlanta
          Miami
          Washington

SP Roy Halladay (12-3, 2.77 ERA)

SP Cliff Lee (7-7, 2.11 ERA)

SP Joe Blanton (8-3, 2.75 ERA)

CP Jonathan Papelbon (0-1, 3.76 ERA, 22 SV, 32 SO)

What are some potential trades I could make to start season? Realism is important to me. I want to do something bold to change the outlook that people have on the Royals organization. I was thinking of trading for a big acquisition. What could I afford though with this low of a payroll?

Can anyone who knows please also tell me about who are the best players on the Royals, and best prospects, weaknesses, strengths, etc. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you so much! P.s. I have the rosters with all the prospects.
The best thing you could do is get Lowrie from HOU to play 2B and wait for the ASB or develop your young pitching.

OK, first and foremost, these are all completely fair. Two things, though; One, if the Tigers have Infante in these rosters, don't trade Utley there. Two....

Please, I'm begging you, don't trade Halladay to New York. Anywhere but New York or Boston. Please? That'd be cruel for Jays fans lol.

What other suggestions would you have for me to ship Halladay? New York offers the best package, imo.

So in my Royals franchise, Texas will take my worst catching prospect Cody Clark for Michael Young. Should I do it? Actually, they will take any prospect for him. They must want to shed some salary.

Why not? They already have Beltre at third, and Lee would help put that team over the top and make them a favorite for the world series.

They wouldn't give up Olt for Greinke, what makes you think they'd do it for Lee...Olt is a future All-Star.

Please, I'm begging you, don't trade Halladay to New York. Anywhere but New York or Boston. Please? That'd be cruel for Jays fans lol.

Not unless you want to rip off the CPU. Some people don't have guilt. If you want to be realistic, however, then don't do it.
