Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I am looking to get a good leadoff hitter. I am the Reds and got rid of Stubbs. I have Lorenzo Cain but he just isn't cutting it right now. I think he could benefit from one year in the minors. I need someone with high contact and good speed. Any ideas on who I should look for?

Jemile Weeks is sweet.. But you have Phillips at 2nd... You could either move Phillips to SS or turn Weeks into an outfielder.. He has good speed..

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Ok guys I am in year 2015 and just past the All-Star game with the Cubs. Currently I am 2.5 games in first place and even though my team is doing well, I don't trust my pitching staff to continue to pitch well. That is why I am trying to trade for an ace pitcher. Here is a list of the teams who are currently 10 games or more back in wild card. I am also looking for an outfielder.

Twins- 20 games back in Wild Card/ 20 games in division
Orioles- 19.5 games back in Wild Card/ 18.5 games in division
Red Sox- 18 games back in Wild Card/ 17 games in division
Athletics- 16.5 games back in Wild Card/ 16.5 games in division
Tigers- 12 games back in Wild Card/ 12 games in division
Rangers- 11 games back in Wild Card/ 11 games in division
Blue Jays- 10 games back in Wild Card/ 9 games in division
Marlins- 12.5 games back in Wild Card/ 25.5 games in division
Phillies- 11.5 games back in Wild Card/ 24.5 games in division
Rockies- 11 games back in Wild Card/ 11.5 games in division
Astros- 10 games back in Wild Card/ 12.5 games in division

Now out of those teams there here is a list of players I think they would be willing to trade for the right price.

Twins- Jacoby Ellsbury- 31 years old, .274/.377/.497 8 hrs, 31 rbis
The Twins don't look like they will be competing for a while now so I just don't see why they would want to keep Ellsbury.

        Orioles- Zack Greinke- 31 years old, 7-5 w/ 3.63 ERA, 1.20 whip
The Orioles trade for Greinke in 2012 and haven't been close to the playoffs. With guys like Tillman, Appel, Britton and the Bundys' I don't see why they wouldn't want to get rid of his 13.1 mil contract.

Adam Jones- 29 years old, .248/300/451, 15 hrs, 45 rbis.
He only has one year left on his massive contract (17.3 this year and 18.2 next) so for the right price I feel the Orioles will let Jones go.

Red Sox- Clay Buckholz- 30 Years old, 3-9 w/ 4.29 ERA, 1.37 whip
The Red Sox haven't sniffed the playoffs since Theo jumped to us. I think it's time for them to start a major overhaul. Plus Clay is in the last year of his 4 year deal.

Athletics- Andrew McCutchen- 28 years old, .257/.344/.461 14 hrs, 39 rbis. This is probably the least likely person to trade for because he is only 28. The Athletics traded Cespedes for him last year.

Tigers-Unfortunately the only players that would help are Verlander and Strasburg (traded Drew Smyly 2014).

Rangers- Yu Darvish- 28 years old, 4-5 4.83 era, 1.47 whip, .271 avg
This is a reach like McCutchen but he is in his last year of his contract. Having one of his worst seasons statistically. However since they are only 11 games back I doubt they would be willing to trade him.

Josh Hamilton is unfortunately injured for the next 2 months otherwise I would think of him.

Blue Jays- Nothing but crap on this team (lol sorry AC had to do it)
Actually they have some great players (Bautista, Romero, Rasmus) however they are only 9 games back in the division so I am sure they would be trying to add players to try and make the playoffs.

        Marlins- Josh Johnson- 31 years old, 6-8 w/ 2.53 ERA, 1.13 whip
The Marlins have been a bust of a team since they tried to be like the Yankees. I think it is probably time they switch back to what won them 2 world series championships. Johnson could net them a bright future.

Phillies- Shane Victorino- 34 years old, .274/.305/.422 5 hrs, 24 rbis
The Phillies traded him in real life so I am sure they would here lol. He would make a pretty good rental for this season. Hopefully will come cheap.

Hunter Pence- 31 years old, .241/.329/.473, 17 hrs, 51 rbis.
Just like Victorino expect with him being younger he wouldn't be a rental so I would expect to pay more for him.

Rockies- Carlos Gonzalez- 29 years old, .310/.360/.518, 10 hrs, 29 rbis
With his high salary (13.5 mil) I think the Rockies would be willing to move him for the right price.

Astros- The only one I would be interested in is J.D. Martinez and I know at only 27 years old and a favorable contract he isn't going anywhere.

Sorry for the long post but like in my other posts I wanted to give you guys as much info as possible. Thanks

Wow. Epic post. Don't need anymore information because you provided EVERYTHING! Just one question; what are you asking for? Values? Which to trade for?

P.S. Of COURSE the Jays are in contention. We're that boss. Brett Lawrie can get seriously good too.

Does anyone really care where I sent this from?

I really would like a top notch pitcher and an outfielder(Greinke and McCutchen are my top targets). I guess if you guys could tell me if it would be realistic to get any of those players and what I would need to give up to receive those players. If you need anymore info just let me know.

Okay guys. I am a White Sox fan, but wanted to do something different this year. I have decided to take either the A's or Royals. Leaning towards probably taking KC cause I am from Oklahoma, and I absolutely love their ballpark.

What are some potential trades I could make to start season? Realism is important to me. I want to do something bold to change the outlook that people have on the Royals organization. I was thinking of trading for a big acquisition. What could I afford though with this low of a payroll?

Can anyone who knows please also tell me about who are the best players on the Royals, and best prospects, weaknesses, strengths, etc. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you so much! P.s. I have the rosters with all the prospects.

With the Mets out of it (about 15 games) at the ASB, my buddy who runs the Phillies chise is thinking about Johan Santana. He's 8-4 with an ERA right below 4. He's making 22 mil this year and in 2013 in the game.

I'd say two B's. What are your opinion?

Are you looking for positions? Also, wait until minimum June to make a splash.

I am thinking maybe an ace pitcher. As for positions, what would it take to get an Adrian Gonzalez or Braun type player? And could the Royals even afford it? Carlos Quentin would even be a nice pickup.

I guess if you guys could tell me if it would be realistic to get any of those players and what I would need to give up to receive those players. If you need anymore info just let me know.
I don't think McCutchen would be traded, Greinke though if not a rental would cost 2 A's and a B

Moustakas and Hosmer are your best players for the future that are in the majors already. Your top prospects are Wil Myers, Mike Montgomery, Lamb, Cuthbert just too name a few

I'd say two B's. What are your opinion?
                              a B Maybe 2

Braun and Gonzale along with those type of guys wouldn't fit for you money wise or be available. Quentin as long as he hasn't signed an extension in your season would cost a B and a C
