I have the EXACT same problem as you. Another thing I have noticed is that after the first inning or so the in game commentary will stop. The only in game sounds that work the rest of the game are the crowd. It never fails and I know if the in game commentary stops working then it will freeze at the player performance screen. Do you have the same issue?

I can't tell you how excited I am to report that I fixed my issue. I contacted Sony and have been going back and forth with them via email and their latest suggestion finally worked.

In order to resolve issue, please delete the Game Data Utility for the games experiencing difficulty as this data may have become corrupted. To delete the Game Data utility, please follow the instructions below:

- Navigate to the 'Game' icon on the XrossMediaBar™ (XMB™).
- Select 'Game Data Utility' and hit 'X'.
- Find and highlight the game title.
- Press 'Triangle', then choose 'Delete'

After deleting the game data, please go into Safe Mode and select option 3 (Restore File System). Step by step instructions on how to access Safe Mode are located below:

• Turn off the PS3™ by holding the Power button until the power light turns red.
• Press and hold the Power button until you hear 3 separate beeps (separated by about 5 seconds) and the power light goes from red to green and back to red.
• Press and hold the Power button again. This time listen for 2 single beeps (separated by about 5 seconds), followed by a rapid double beep. As soon as you hear the double beep, release the power button. The light on your system will still be green if this is done properly.

Next, plug your controller in with the USB cable and you will see a menu with six options. For this troubleshooting, please choose option 3. After accessing Safe Mode 3, you will see a message indicating that the Hard Disk File System has been corrupted and will be restored. Press X to confirm the restoration.

I did this and when I started the game I downloaded the 1.21 patch and installed the 10GB game data and that did the trick. I did create a new RTTS rather than continuing the one I had previously saved. I played a few games with my new RTTS player and couldn't be happier to finally be able to play again.

I am in the 2nd week of September using 30-team control and the game constantly freezes when I try to sim to the next day. Game has all latest updates and 10GB is installed.

how do i delete the patch

I am on September 5th of my franchise. I've played every game up to this point, so having it freeze now is extremely unfortunate. Am I doomed? Is there a way around this? Should/how can I delete the patch?

So after my franchise game is over, I'll click 'Exit' in the menu. I get to the screen where it shows the player of the game and it just stays there. No autosave icon comes up, I try pressing all the buttons I can, nothing. I have to turn the system off and on. This always happens on games on Fridays (in the Show, not real life). Apart from that, all 6 other days of the week I can play fine. Why is this?

Same thing alway keeps happening to me as well. My favorite part of franchises are compiling stats to try and reach milestones. This issue is completely ruining this game for me. I've tried deleting game data and redownloading but it was no help. Any way around this would be appreciated.

This is probably the fourth time this has happened to me. The good thing is all other times I have lost the game. This is the first time this happened when I won the game. I was the RedSox Playing the White sox on a July 19 game of my Franchise, and rallied to win the game. I hit X to bypass the replays, and got to the endgame screen. However, the endgame screen had the infield picture popping up and stuck to the screen. (If I go to another screen like box score, I would not be able to read the boxscore). I waited a little while probably 3 seconds before quitting as I have done before when this happened. Usually just waiting for the announcers to finish talking and going through will work. However, this time I hit quit and it was stuck on the player of the game and the baseball icon did not appear. The screen was stuck, and I never felt so helpless and upset since I really worked hard to do the right thing swing at the right pitches and everything.

This was upsetting because there was really no way of me saving it before hand. However, I was wondering if there was anyway that this problem can be fixed. If a solution was mentioned please forward it because there are so many posts on freezing here and unfortunately I can't look at them all. Thanks.

Wow. I was following this close on Friday when the patch came out, then did family stuff all weekend to see another 30 pages added onto this thread!

I am using Knight's spring training roster in 2 different franchises where i control all 30 teams with 1 profile. I had set the first franchise up before the patch but not played a game. The second franchise I started after the download of the patch, same settings. I am not using any sounds saved on the PS3.

I haven't had any issues freezing in the schedule or any of the other places that I have read in the thread, but i like to play all of the games out and not sim anything, and when i finish a game i get to the exit load screen where it throws up the box score and it just sits there.

The weird thing about my freeze is that it doesn't completely lock up the system. I am able to use the PS3 putton on the controller and exit the game. When I go back in it acts as though the game was never played.

Not sure if there is anything else you need to know? Just wanted to put out there that starting a franchise after the patch was downloaded wasn't working for me.

Maybe SCEA should rethink putting patches out on Friday the 13th??? lol

The same thing happens to me. If only SCEA could develop a way that the game automatically saves during the game or after its done before the replays come up. Do you also have the infield icons popping up on the exit screen and blocking off the box score when you try to check it?

I have the same issue, yes infield icons pop up before qutting, then quit game and it crashes.

Deleted the update makes no difference.

Has anyone found a workaround?

I have a possible work around solution for freeze problem. After not playing for over a month, I erased most of my extra save files for the game and played a game in Franchise. I saved it and exited before the ninth inning and started the game from the ingame save file. Of course, this means you lose end of game highlights but I haven't had the freezing problem since doing that.

I also have a theory that the freezing has something to do with having a lot of highlights at the end of the games, because the game is much faster at the end when there is not much highlights recorded at the end of the game.

If any of you are brave enough to see if just erasing the extra data files stop the problems please let us know.

I have a freezing issue as well on Franchise, I am using one of the classic rosters from OS, the one done by marsl and them, and it began freezing last night when the simulate gets to june 5th 2013. I tried opening a new franchise with the same roster and it froze again at june 5th. I downloaded another persons classic roster, and I started a franchise with that one but with that roster it doesn't freeze. Is there a solution to this other than deleting the game and reinstalling it?
