unless NCAA gets some ASAP miraculous patch, the feedback is gunna be 50/50 at best imo...i can see where u and everybody else that's gunna start their franchise is coming from....i just have a feeling some if not all of the Astros veterans will be shipped off between now and the trading deadline and i would love to add to our farm system

But the thing that really throws me of are the inconsistencies of some players being rated higher who are having sub-par seasons so far. Two quick examples:

Castro power increased? He has 2 HR's with .287 slug % this season. What validates his re-rate?
Harrell is your third best player and second best pitcher? I guess those 2 good starts at the end of June made him leap frog into a top notch front of the rotation guy (lots of sarcasm there, lol)

As for the the young guys; I understand that most young players with high potential got their ratings reduced (which doesn't make sense when you compare them to on average higher ratings the CPU generated rookies will have from year to year, but that's besides the point). But when I saw how low Singleton is underrated, I was disappointed.

With those new ratings he won't even be a key piece of your team in near OR far future. His ratings are so low he will get passed by all your CPU generated rookies you draft in year one. I mean the guy graded an A- for a great game at the MLB futures game on sunday.
i've only done a quick scan of the rosters but yeah i agree with u....im not sure how the re-rates were adjusted but on paper, it doesnt look very promising....and if Harrell is their third BEST player and second BEST pitcher, im beyond worried....im more concerned with the rookies then the vets though....i'll prolly run another sim franchise for a year just to see if and how they progress

Lol a bet is a bet. Plus, Harrell was lights out in the first two innings of his start, but he turned to poop real quick

I agree with geronimo22 though. Jonathan singleton will be ready for next year, but in this roster he's a F overall and his attributes are way down. There's no way he will be ready for next year. A little disappointed in that. But other then that these rosters are amazing. I feel like it plays a lot different and in a good realistic way I feel

I've read through and I don't think waiting is really worth it. I need to get into my franchise before football season starts up (which is when I'll probably buy NCAA or Madden or both). It looks like they are just editing a list of guys CAPS which I don't care all that much about, and less than 20 players potentials. I'll just consider them booms/busts lol (although one was Cosart going up to an A.. I guess I'll just have to earn it).

As for Singleton I am disappointed with how low his ratings were dropped. I may manually edit him to where he was or maybe a mid way point. I just don't see the justification of his severe drop off when he appears to be so promising. Even with a high A potential (if that is what he got) after a few years he still will be below average I think. So I think I am going to sim through the first season and see how guys progress and then go from there.

I agree, but at the same time I would like to select what kinds of guys I'm going to go after with Wandy. Other than that what veterans are you referring to? I think I can trade Myers for a bag of balls and a ball boy myself.. J.A. Happ? Maybe I can get a hot dog vendor if he is pitching well, but honestly I'll probably just hold him and release after a while. Lowrie is the only real stop gap until Correa is ready so I'll probably hold him.

Yea .. I am about to sim through the first season and I'll let you know what he progresses too. I was just going to start at the begining.. but for some reason I have no interest in the first season. Maybe it is because the team has 0 chance of contending (you know rather than a 25% chance if you are good maybe) without Carlos Lee.

I understand. I'm still gonna run the play 1 sim 5 deal through the first season.

But yea, do that and let me know man. I appreciate it.

The reason all the rookies with A potential are rated so low is because they progress extremely quickly. There was a post by Scott in his thread that said something to the point of a rating of 50 was average, so guys with 30-40 ratings would be a year or so away.

And I'm sure Scott knows what he's doing, he's a very smart guy and I'd be willing to bet he's simmed and tested how these guys progress.
