Agreed. If I do one of them though, I may have to get rid of Mr Gonzalez. And Correa is earning a callup soon, if he continues to play at his current pace. He's hitting .270 with 12 bombs and 44 RBI. OBP around .340 and SLG at .460. Granted its the minors, but he's given me no reason to think he can't possibly make an appearance in September. And if not then, then definitely in the Spring next season.

Re: Da Astros
Alright. I dont know what happened to me...I got pissed off at losing. So, in my mind...this is what went down.
Trades and Signings
Our first series is out of the way. We got swept. Not liking it. This whole waiting for the future crap is not what I'm down for. I am now the owner of this team and guess what? Houston wants to be in the race THIS season. This is baseball. Things happen.
What's wrong with our lineup? A bit of everything. Where's the power? Where's the contact? Carlos Lee? Is that our answer? I'm not satisfied. GET BOSTON ON THE PHONE. I want Big Papi.
Straight up trade. Carlos Lee for David Ortiz. Seems like Boston isn't happy about this, the guy on the other line sounded a bit drunk anyways. To hell with their interests!
Welcome to the team David. This is the power that's needed out of the cleanup spot. I'll sacrifice some leather for some heavy wood. You know what, let's get MORE wood.
Russel "The Muscle" Branyan, how'd you like a spot on the team? We need that power. WELCOME TO THE ASTROS, MEAT!
Our rotation needs some help and our old friend Roy Oswalt is looking for some work. Care to toss some innings for us this upcoming season? Can't give you an ace spot, but you can sure take the number 2 slot! Welcome back, Roy.
Fast forward a couple games. I'm happy. We've won two straight. But DAMN. Bogusevic jest went down for 3 months. Let's call up Brian Bixler, I have a good feeling about his name.
He does well, but we can't contend with this team. We need more. We need to take a look around the league and see what we can do.
Arizona D-Backs need a 2B. I have three of them. Who's it going to be? Altuve, we have faith in you...but guess what? You have to go. You have a couple years to grow into a stud and we're not willing to wait that long. The D-Backs like your potential and are willing to go ALL out for you. They must see something that I'm not seeing, but that's ok...I can't see that far into the future anyways.
Chris Snyder
Jordan Schafer
and Jose Altuve
for
Justin Upton and Chris Young.
I don't know what's up with that, but my team needs that wood. They're great players and would definitely play a big role in leading our team into the playoffs. Our lineup is solid. I'm satisfied.
Sometimes, you have to do what's best for the team and make them contenders. Here's our lineup. We're 7-5. Cubs are leading the division 10-3. They seem serious this year. We should too.
2B Jimmy Paredes
Jimmy's doing good. He sees and hits the ball well and has good speed. Hopefully he keeps it up.
CF Chris Young
New addition. Have yet to play with him. Look forward to it.
RF Justin Upton
New addition. Have yet to play with him. Look forward to it.
It seems Bogusevic might have lost his job. **** happens. This is baseball. He'll most likely be traded for some relief pitching or kept on the bench. Who knows. Only time can tell.
1B David Ortiz
Absolute monster. Stays alive, tires out the pitcher, draws walks, and is a threat. A huge threat.
LF JD Martinez
The future of this team. Not hitting well. Not doing that great, even when he was batting 3rd. Hopefully he gets out of this slump and shows what he's made out of. I have faith in him.
SS Jed Lowrie
I really like this kid. He's been really clutch, starting rallies and making key diving catches. A stud against lefties.
3B Russell "The Muscle" Branyan
Love this guy. A huge threat ... when he makes contact. It's either a line drive or a deep, deep, deep ball. Adds huge power to the bottom of the lineup.
C Jason Castro
You know, there's not much I can say. That's both a good and a bad thing. He has had his fair share of clutch hits but he's also been quite the rally killer.
Bench
SS Marwin Gonzalez
C Ivan Rodriguez [opening day rosters]
3B Chris Johnson
2B Matt Downs
CF JB Shuck
Marwin is, without a doubt, my favorite player on this team. Has yet to disappoint me.
Ivan does his thing from a defensive perspective. Don't really expect much out of him at the plate.
CJ, as I like to call him, comes in during lefties to play first...which he's been learning. Hasn't been quite the hitter, but he'll most likely pick it back up seeing as he'll only be facing lefties or coming in to pinch hit for the pitcher when necessary.
Matt Downs. He's been pretty good for me. Nothing bad so far. Look forward to seeing how he does throughout the season. I can definitely see him being a sleeper.
JB Shuck was doing pretty good until that blockbuster trade that I made. It came down to a matter of skill and well...I'd rather have Chris Young out there. He will be replacing whichever outfielder needs rest.
That's pretty much it for my lineup. My pitching staff is alright. Hasn't changed except for the addition of Oswalt.
Let's hope I can take this team to the playoffs!Last edited by MauryJohn; 08-18-2012, 10:00 PM.Comment

Re: Da Astros
First game with the new lineup and I lost to the Dodgers, 6-2. Game started off with Paredes getting a single and advancing to second on a passed ball. Chris Young then hits a homerun on a 3-2 fastball low and in.
My pitching was just off. Lyles was getting handled out there. Brought in Henry Sosa and he gave up 2 runs.
All in all.
Screw you, Matt Kemp.Comment
