    Re: Umpire Personalities Thread

Yeah, looks like the latest patch changed most of the umpire names. I wonder if the umpires' union had a complaint with how similar some of the names were to the real-life umpires (ex: CB Hernandez). It wouldn't surprise me if they complained.

Has anybody figured out if these "new" umpires are the same umpires with different names or if their faces and tendencies have changed as well?

The strike zones for each up could be different. Giving high strikes vs low, outside vs inside etc. and the degree could be as minescule as an inch or as great as a foot, it is all on the umps. It would make variable umps actually variable.

YES! Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball did this. It was awesome. You could see a wireframe of the home plate, and each umpire had a different wireframe.

This is the only image i can find that sorta shows what I'm talking about:

Here, I made a GIF to show what I'm talking about. This is showing a guy getting walked, and how the balls came in. The replay would show the "perfect" strike zone (the white wire frame), and the "Ump's" strike zone (not pictured, I think because the guy had it turned off).

I would like to be able to edit those personalities. Maybe the ps4 will eventually bring this about. I would like to edit names (and coaches and managers!). I would also like to edit an Ejection Attribute. Retro Sheet has a record of this for past seasons. Edit strike zone size would be great too. I hope to see a day where the Show has over 70 umps to choose from.
