Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
OK, everyone! MSUboy has been banned. Now, lets not let what happened last night happened again. From here on, let's stay ON TOPIC and hopefully not have to deal with that stuff again. I'll get us started, here;
To: GM of the Braves
From: GM of the Blue Jays
Subject: Adroys Vizcaino

Re: Trade offer (Hanrahan for Matusz and others)
July 11, 2012
Good afternoon,
As we sit here just past the All-Star break, evaluating our various options, we've come to the conclusion that we could possibly arrive at a trade that benefits both teams.
At 42-43, the Orioles are only 5 games out for the Wild Card spot and rumor has it you're in "Playoff Push" mode. Your closer, Jim Johnson, has been okay so far, but we think an upgrade there could really help your team make a good push for the WC spot. Johnson is 0-2, 3.20 ERA, 23/27 saves, 25.1 IP, 15 K, 13 BB.
We would like to offer Joel Hanrahan (who recently represented us in the All-Star game). Hanrahan is having a great year (0-1, 1.85 ERA, 21/22 saves, 24.1 IP, 21 K, 4 BB).
In return, we are looking at Brian Matusz and a package of 2-3 "C" prospects. Matusz is doing pretty well so far in the bullpen, but it doesn't look like he'll get the chance to compete for a spot in the starting rotation again with so many other pitchers passing him on the depth chart. Matusz has a 1.96 ERA in 36.2 IP, but he has allowed 5 HR's and righties are hitting .315 off him.
Some of the other players we're looking at are listed below:
RP Pedro Strop (C Pot.) - 3.27 ERA in AAA
CP Dan Klein (C Pot.) - has only played in A-ball
C Caleb Joseph (C Pot.) - .277/.320/.411 in AA
3B Zelous Wheeler (C Pot.) - .228/.265/.299 in AA
1B Tyler Townsend (C Pot.) - .259/.337/.456 in AA
SS Mychal Givens (C Pot.) - .239/.284/.357
We'd of course be happy to provide you with any other information you require. Also, and I was hesitant to offer this at first, we may be willing to part with Casey McGehee who is enjoying a bit of a resurgence (.284/.311/.449). We mention this because Mark Reynolds in struggling (.209 Avg, 11 HR, 76 K's) and Nolan Reimold is out another month with a broken shin.
Thanks for your time.

I have returned from my 2 week hiatus and am ready to wheel and deal so to speak. Feel free to hit me up for some transactions.

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
Not dignifying what happened with what happened with any quotes to bring any of it back to life, just a few words.
Thank you, OS Moderators:
For realizing that the rest of the members using this thread are not out for themselves, and that this will return to business as usual -- which is solid and useful baseball conversation centering around this game.
Thank you, thread veterans:
Worked my butt off this weekend and didn't have time to get here. I'd like to thank every single one of you for keeping as calm as possible and making it apparent that we intend to do good things here to help the community as the whole.
This project DOES mean a lot to me now... and I'd have been pretty crushed if it had been locked when I returned.
END OFF-TOPIC -- BACK TO BUSINESS. THANKS ALL.I'm just an old guy sports gamer...Comment

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
COMMISSIONER'S RULING
As the de-facto commissioner of this project, I hereby decree that the "trading block" extras that were added on by overly enthusiastic posters in the past is now deemed off-topic to this thread.
I am not, nor have I ever been a moderator. Now that moderator action HAS been taken against a member of this thread, and that I have seen what terror that the "trading block" can truly bring to this thread, I'm outlawing it as Arbitration Panel Project policy.
If you are trying to make a trade in your franchise, message the organization USING OUR TEMPLATE and MAKE A CLEAR AND DISTINCT OFFER. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Team representatives are please advised to ignore any negotiations that do not conform with the template and these parameters. You may, of course, further negotiate and counter offer -- but offers should be made to the representatives to where they do not need to go to their PS3 to rule on the trade. You know what you are giving up, and what you are getting.
This is supposed to be a thread to where any OS user that is running a franchise can make a trade offer to a real person. Discussion of trades, and trading blocks already have their own thread.
I'm no one here, but this was originally pistolpete and my idea -- and if the way I want to try to do things to save this thread aren't wanted, I will gladly leave and you can appoint a new "commissioner" through diplomatic means -- but I don't think this is an unfair request as this was the way the project was intended in the first place.
It's an information source and fun, not anyone's personal universe. Be fair to the representatives and to the other users of the thread. Thank you, and I am sorry for the novel and if I seem harsh.I'm just an old guy sports gamer...Comment
