Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
A friend of mine who also plays a franchise came up with the idea of how to use the most recently drafted players in franchise mode. He's an A's fan, so the addition of Addison Russel would be huge to a franchise with no big players in the middle infield besides Jemile Weeks, and there's no way he's moving to short.
So his idea was to scout guys like you normally would, and find the gems, keep track of them, yada yada yada. But the difference is his drafting strategy. I'm going to do this now; draft guys who match the positions of the players drafted IRL. They will match the positions of the first 5/6 picks, depending on how long the draft goes. They will also match the potential of the guys as close as possible. For example, I evaluated Mark Appel (Pirates' first round pick) as an A potential guy. If I can't get someone matching, I will trade the prospect for a different draft prospect over the offseason that does match. Therefore, I will need to keep a record of the draft.
It's easy from there. Just edit them to where I like and feel they're comftorable. Then I'll edit the aesthetics. Then they'll start the nexxt season in AA.
I am going to have a lot of fun with this, and for anyone with a franchise not yet past the 2012 draft, I encourage you to try this.Comment

I could let Scott do the work for me in his rosters.

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
Do you mind checking if he's a low D or a high D? If he's a low D, there really isn't anything you can do about it. Also, is there anything that he's really good at? Like, does he have really good contact, or power, or something?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
