    Yeah you're right, we are all used to house rules from the past. I can always control my moves, but I cannot control the CPU (of course there is 30 team control, but that's just another party solution.)

      Another question about trades. Has there been any talk of why the trades haven't been expanded yet? I've read some posts, but I'd still love to see them in at some point. Even if it did mess up rosters, I'd accept the game manually releasing players or sending them down to single A to facilitate such a thing.

      As it is now these blockbuster deals can't be done in the game, not without turning force trades on and doing multiple trades. Not a huge deal, but it would be cool to trade a player like Matt Cain in the last year of his deal for a bunch of prospects. Or trade for Matt Cain. I always play with force trades on since I don't like the logic the game uses I'm hoping this year I can just let it be, but what tabarnes wrote makes me feel I'll do the same this year.

        You're saying you couldn't trade Matt Cain to a team with budget room and a number of prospects that was in the running in the past?
        or vice versa?

        That would be the easiest trade in the game I would say.

            When I say bunch I mean getting 5-6 prospects for 2 players at once.

            For example trading Matt Cain and Lincecum to the Rangers for 6-7 prospects in one trade.

            Both ways as well. I'd just like the ability to do a large trade.

                You could do that, it was just a hassle.

                Trade one:

                Cain for prospect A + B

                Trade two: Random scrub for prospect C

                This is, of course, playing with 30 team control on.

                  Yeah, that is true. A lot of things need 30 team control, but I don't like to play like that. I just don't think that is a good solution. I don't like to force trades either, but its necessary sometimes to get things right.

                    I just turned off CPU trades and used force trades for 12. I'd just post in the trade thread asking for advice.

                      Any chance that there are players who didn't play in 2012, guys like Vlad, Miguel Tejada, Brandon Webb, even lesser ones like Eugenio Velez, who in some form are still trying to play are in game as editable players with correct stat just not correct names.

                        I have used forced trades in the past (using the scrub players you mentioned) to get around the inability to migrate franchises. This allows me to reassemble the previous year's team. Trouble is, once you start a franchise, you can't go back and turn forced trades off. So you can't make trades with the CPU. Until they get franchise migration into The Show, I wish there was a way to go back and turn forced trades off.

                          Not this year....but I wish someone would have mentioned it pre-CD day...
                          It might be possible as a toggle on/off.

                          I can still ask Aaron about it at the very least.

                            Exactly. A toggle would be a fix until they get migration incorporated. Sorry this was not mentioned before, but I appreciate your checking into it. Maybe they can still squeeze it in.

                              The game is checked in.
                              ...and I don't know if this is something that can be or would be considered to be patched in as if it causes a bug...yikes!(testing at this stage is iffy and with last years patch problem....I'm sure they are cautious)
