This should be improved by superstar players in this year's game reaching their potential faster like Trout or Harper. The CD guys may have more on this, but it has been talked about in previews already. The amount of talent in the draft has always correlated to how much is retiring so that hasn't been the real culprit.

After reading more of the impressions thread I'm still very curious about the issue of CPU batter strikeouts.

In the past players like Craig Kimbrel were just impossible to have in the game, unless you pitched with him every game and were able to strike out two per inning.

Nomo mentioned that it seemed like players chased more pitches, even if he only could have a small sample size.

For those CD guys that simmed a bunch did you notice the K/9 of pitchers being higher or lower at all? Is it possible to have a pitcher like Craig Kimbrel (16.66 K/9), Chapman (15.32 K/9) or a SP like Scherzer, Darvish or Samardzija? I ended up trading for Kimbrel in one of my franchise and its a bit upsetting to see his 2011 stats (14.84 K/9) and then his simmed 2012 season (8-9 K/9). Even though his K/9 rating is maxed.

As far as K/9 I didn't check. I thought K's in general were a little low, but they were going to tweak it. When we first got there ERA's were low and BA were low and they fixed that quickly...

Only place I saw letter grades was for potential. The numerical attributes have replaced them. We mentioned the 20-80 scale and that is something that might happen in the future, where they convert the 0-100 rating into 20-80.

Aarrghhh the numbers are taking over

Welp, if the letter grades are still being used for player potential then I guess I can start working on the Mariners prospect list now

I sure hope so. A max K/9 should reflect the highest K/9 in the MLB. I guess it should be a different scale for SP and RP/CP though. I doubt though that we will see a properly simmed season with Chapman and Kimbrel type of numbers though.

Ugh, can't stand the letter grades, but this does let us start working on OSFM.

I agree the number system is terrible..like the idea of it eventually being hidden. I dont understand the need to know that one guy is 75 and another is 73, one should be able to see the difference between a 60 and 70 or 75. Things are getting way too specific when people can hardly agree on A,B and C potentials. I actually even thought the player card generalizations were funny and good just didnt have enough variety.

being able to do a 20-80 scale would be cool and really cool if they could give a career comparison to an active player (cooler if it could ever mention historical players but impossible)

Im looking to see how much deeper you can go in franchise and develop guys.

I was curious which managers were missing from this years game? weiss? gibbons? redmond?

It's because 90% of the people who purchase the game want to see numbers.

Unfortunately this is very true. I understand you can't just take out numbers to please us minority but do you think maybe we could see some options in the future that may allow us to hide the numbers. As you say, with so much of the mass consumers wanting everything rated down to a decimal point we won't see them removed, but maybe you're open to some creative ideas down the road to please both parties?

Yeah...this is really want I would want.

I absolutely understand why the game "had" to go in that direction.

I'm just breaking some balls a little with Ramone.

I guess I should have clarified, i understand why you added numbers, I am baffled why anyone would want it. It is of no fault or a bad move for SCEA, just the ones that dont want them have no choice, we cant unsee numbers, and why the OPTION to never see them would be cool in the future. I get it from your POV

SCEA listens to the gamers, What we've got here is NOT failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men

I always appreciate the work everyone puts in, especially you Ramone!
