One more - will there finally be a spot in the pitching rotation for a spot starter? As it is now, if you spot start a pitcher for whatever reason, but then want to continue the rotation where you left off, you'll have to move the pitchers all up a spot. This could potentially cause your whole rotation to shift so that your number 5 starter becomes your number 1 starter, your number 1 started becomes number 2, etc. If there is just a spot in the rotation for a spot starter (which could be left empty the majority of the time unless you spot start someone), it would help solve this issue. I hope that made sense...

Yeah....I don't think it's a bug.
I think he just doesn't realize that he would need to pick up the guy off waivers.

That may not be a bug? What day exactly did you try to sign him? 40 man rosters have to be set before the rule 5 draft. I have never seen this. If you can provide more information I will try to look into it here and if I can duplicate it, and it's a bug I will bring it to the devs attention.

This is a pretty close estimation. Lopez was released on May 1 and the resigned on May 12th. So somewhere in them 11 days. I kept trying every few days and received the same message, then somewhere during the end of the regular season late Aug early Sep I was able to add him to the Indians. This also happened to another player from another team, but I have no clue who it was. I usually follow the transactions to a tee because I love the realism it brings to the product. I know I was not the only user that was having the same issue, however, it was different players that this guy was having issues with.

Hey Knight,

What has been done do address the trade logic and franchise finances? It seemed most teams couldnt afford players after 3 or 4 years, then star players in free agency would only receive one year contracts because teams couldnt afford them. I also noticed that higher potential players with no service time would receive way too much money in arbitration, anywhere from 5 to 8 million.

Has the simcast experience been revamped? Last year there was a lot of batters swinging on 3-0 pitches, bunts with 2 strikes or bases loaded, and it just wasn't an accurate depiction of baseball strategy. It was my first year playing the show and I remember MVP 05 had a great simcast experience. Would love to see more hit and runs from the computer too during sims.

also, will there be rained out games or rain delays?

Someone please tell me that they have improved the stat overlays. It seems small I know, but I'm a stat junkie, and I would love nothing more than to have sortable league wide season stats, and career stats.

I would also love to see trends and such. Like seeing the longest active hit streaks, as well as scoreless innings streaks. It would also be cool if they had a no-hitter tracker. So if someone around the league is tossing a no-no while you're in a game you would know about it, from both pop ups and the announcers will acknowledge it.

When the PS4 is the development module for this game...I'm nearly positive that we'll see nearly every stat tracked year to year and in a sortable fashion.
We'll also finally get team played for on the player cards.

It will happen...just not in '13.

I don't see why they can't do it on PS3, MVP had detailed sortable career and season stats for every player, and that was on PS2.

But anyways there are 3 other things I think they should do, two small, one gigantic. I think every fake minor league player should be loosely based on a real life counterpart, like have same stance, handiness, and ratings, but different name. Another thing they could take from MVP. It would make creating roster files so much easier.

Another in the small category would be, top prospect lists. For instance each team would have their own top 10 prospect list, and there would be a top 100 list for the league.

And for the gigantic addition. Create a stadium. We will probably have to wait for PS4 for this to reach it's full potential. But I would like nothing more than to create a stadium from scratch, from the dimensions to the wall height. This would be perfect for an expansion mode.

I'm pretty sure after the EA/NCAA class action lawsuit, that no company will ever use anybody's likeness without compensating them for it.

Posting to remind you to ask Brian about the pickoff thing...

Basically it would be nice if there was an option that gave us complete control over our baserunners, and when (and if) they dove back to their bases. Currently the pickoff system is very forced. I get picked off with guys I have no intention of stealing with, simply because of the dice roll factor.

To add to this can you guys check to see if they toned down the stumbling animation while try to steal. This is probably more of a gameplay thing but I figured it fit in with the baserunning stuff. I had Castro get gunned down 6 straight times and he tripped 3 of the 6 times.

I wanted to put a Roster/Coaches placeholder here so I won't forget at CD...

Gene Lamont is no longer third base coach for the Tigers. He will be making the move to bench coach. Tom Brookens will move from first to coach third. And Rafael Belliard will be coaching first.
