    Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR

Pertaining to the generated player pics, will there be a way to make them all generated?

If its not a setting, would maybe switching the players from their original team and then back to their original team do this? Or will the real picture always show if for example Pujols is ever on the Angels.

So say in a franchise where you did a fantasy draft, Pujols ends up on the Rays. He gets a generated picture.

What happens when Pujols is drafted by the Angels?

What happens if in the franchise where Pujols was on the Rays, he gets traded to the Angels? Will he have a generated pic on the Angels?

I'd rather have all players be generated to be honest instead of just the players that leave their teams. Just personal preference I suppose, so I hope there will be a way to at least force this by moving players around before starting a franchise.

Also, how do you think the CD guys will be putting up info based on the questions posted in these threads? I don't remember there being so many threads last year for CD. Not sure how you guys want to organize it, but maybe posting a list of topics and adding answers as you get them might help people see that info and not ask it again.

I can answer this. In the example you gave with Pujols. In the default SCEA roster he will have a real photo with him in an Angels hat. If you trade him to the Rays he will have a cyberface with the Rays hat and Jersey on. If he is then traded back to the Angels he will go back to his original "real" photo whith the Angels gear on from my understanding. I honestly doubt there is an option to have all generated faces and the only way this would be possible is through a fantasy draft.

I just wanted to ask for some help with Franchise mode on mlb the show 12 I have been playing it for at least 3 weeks! But I just can't win, I always suck at it

I thought I had it all figured out but really I have no idea what I am doing, I havent tried using the osfm offseason 13 roster (just found out what the osfm rosters were thus how I found the site) and I do manage to snag players with A potential but they suck. Badly.

What I really would just love to do is rebuild a franchise and win a world series.

Thats what I would like to know, I want to know how to rebuild a team and make it competitive.

My most recent one was the Mariners but after I signed players I had like $5 mil left. I did try and lock in a bunch of young players for long contracts all of whom had A or B potential and my SP rotation should have been killing it.

But when I start simming the games I start losing like crazy even when I am absolutely convinced that I have a team that is pretty darn good.

So I am posting this in a bunch of topics since I can't make my own, I apologize if this annoys anyone my original intent was just to make a topic asking for help on how to successfully play the Franchise mode and rebuild a team.

Please PM if you can help out, I thank you very much in advance for your help and I beg you to forgive my noobness to this game. It is certainly more than a little complicated. Yet Franchise mode does seem like the ultimate RPG game....anyway thanks guys
A new member cannot create a thread until you post elsewhere a few times... I think it's a measure to reduce spam posts.

In any case, you should not post to the CD threads... these are made for specific purpose. Perhaps you should post to

        http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ss-thread.html

until you can create your own thread...

-Have any changes been made to the UMPIRES variability?
It would be ire to have the option to edit umpire strike zone tendencies and then assign certain umpires with those tendencies to specific leagues.

For example, (for historic franchisers) assign the umpires with the high strike zones to the American League and the umps edited with the low strike zone tendencies to the NL
          ----------------------------------
The above IS a brilliant idea! Hope it would be possible even as later added patch.

Not a bad idea if properly used but at first glance it just sounds like a way too easy way of cheating. There would need to be more limits to this.

So with a fantasy draft everyone would be cyberfaces? Even if they are drafted to their original team. Its going to look weird I feel when half of the players are real photos and half are not.

If they are drafted to their original team they will have the picture. If they are drafted by another team and later traded to the real team they still have real picture. Only time they have cyber is when they are not on original team.

This is sad to hear. I understand why this would be the case, and what I had thought would be the case. But I feel its going to look a bit stupid in practice. Especially with a fantasy draft, nearly all players having a cyberface and then a select few that remain on their original team have a real photo. It already looks weird when a few players have cyberfaces and the rest have photos, imagine if its the other way around now. It only solves one issue, having the right hats, it doesn't solve the issue of the jarring nature of having both photos and cyberface player cards that are used in the game a lot.

The Cyberfaces this year look much better than in previous years. This is a better option than nothing. Honestly they should just go with cyberfaces period instead of actual photos.

The idea was to create the umps to replicate the way the MLB strike zones were set up slightly different (for something like 80? years until sometime in the 1990s) between the AL and the NL. The AL umpires strikes zone was higher than the NL ump's strike zones (I think partly due to the chest protector they used). And it would be an option. Can't have too many options.

Guys, I wanted to pop in and let you know we haven't forgotten about you...I probably won't post more until on my way back though. We are taking notes and are asking and looking at every question in this thread. Some things we will be able to answer right away, others will have to wait until after SCEA releases their info.
One thing I can tell you is players retiring mid contract appears to be over. Only time I saw it was because of an injury, which is realistic..and I only saw that to one player.

There is a lot more to this mode.... looks really good so far!

How is this going to work? Are you just gonna post your answers in as you get them? Edit them all into one post? Your original post? New topic? Orange?

Glad the retiring issue is fixed, at least I hope it is completely fixed. Maybe the most frustrating thing in the game.

Do players still retire at such young ages though, 35-36?

Do they retire after good years statistically still?

What age would you say they retire on average now, just a ballpark?
