Trades frequency depends on numerous factors. One thing I do know is that they did a statistical study of trades in a season and the show is much fewer. I did not see any players in their prime that are stars traded. 30 team control is the same except now if you set one profile to auto draft and the team you are using to manual the cpu will draft for the cpu controlled teams. No longer do you have to draft for each team. There is no reason not to use 30 team control. If you do decide to stay single player you can now scroll through other teams lineups and rotations although you cannot make changes.
Thanks for the responseComment

Not sure if this has been answered yet, but did any of the CD guys investigate how the game will determine push/pull for created players? Will there be any way to force a tendency through the editor (by changing attributes) or is it completely random?
Also about the retirement issue finally being addressed. So the retiring in contract has been fixed right? But has the issue of players retiring unrealistically been addressed? I'm so sick of seeing players have great years and then retire at 35 or 36 due to "age". A few maybe, but have some players stick around until 40+, that is very common in the MLB and it really sucks in RTTS and Franchise when these players retire early.Comment

Is the draft deeper this year? Last year it seemed that you would run out of players after 4 or 5 rounds(and typcially not a full 5th round)
Also is the roster size the same? 25 for MLB, AAA, AA, and 15 for A?
Thanks for all that you guys do.Comment

Rosters are the same but drafts are much better. Look for when the franchise blog is posted.Comment

Not sure if this belongs here or not but don't want to start a whole new thread if not not necessary.
What are the SCEA created minor league players like? I know everyone will say just wait for the OSFM rosters but in all honesty I want to just start my franchise from release day this year.
I waited last year but by time they came out I didn't want to start again but I did and kind of burned myself out too quickly.
What concerns me though is the default minor rosters. Does SCEA put care into them knowing that OSFM are so good? I don't really care about names being correct as long as the prospects are decent.
Also with the team tendencies that were mentioned like the Braves valuing pitching will the Braves have a lot of young pitchers already in their farm or will it only come into effect from the 1st draft?Last edited by merchant1874; 01-25-2013, 02:47 PM.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
I, myself, go through and name the top prospects for every team. I don't name every minor leaguer, for two reasons:
1) I don't want to dedicate that much time, and like you, want to start my franchise upon popping the game into my system.
2) After the first year, when you draft players, players in your system will automatically be removed to make room for your drafted players.
Now it could be different this year in regards to how drafted players are added to the roster, but I don't expect it to be.
Hope that helps. If you would like more information, please let me know and I'll be glad to help the best I can.Comment

I use the default minor league rosters every year. They are really solid, with a great mixture of potential all-stars, good players, average players, and players who will be lifelong minors.

90% of minors I've probably not heard of so it makes no difference I just needed to know if the stock minors were a good scale of quality.Comment
