Re: CES questions you have about MLB 13 The Show

Freeze, did you notice in AT&T Park if the fountains on top of the right field arcade spray water whenever a Giants player hits a HR? I asked about this last year and the CD guys said SCEA was working to get it in for '12, but it was most likely going to be in 13.

    Thank you!

FreezeTime, did you actually get to use the new hitting type that Ramone mentioned earlier? Contact, normal, power, and now "push"... how did it work?

Check through the thread for the Vita impressions. Bottom line is, I'm very impressed.

Can you point me in the direction where he says this Nomo? This sounds too specialized to me, not every player can be successful using an inside-out swing (if I'm guessing right this is what the "push" swing essentially is), it sounds more like one of the hard coded tendencies Ramone alluded to a week or two ago...

I interpreted it as attributes being applied to players to distinguish "push' and "pull" type hitters.

It's not something you select, it's the type of batter the hitter is inherently. He's either Push, Pull, Extreme Push, Extreme Pull, and balanced.

has the 'floaty' look of the changeup flightpatch been tweaked away from that? changeup is supposed to be a timing trick pitch but it's overly exaggerated for many editions of the show. the other aspect was it needed to be recalibrated across alot of pitcher's fastballs (mph diff bet. the FB and CH was too many mph).

I asked Ramone about this about a month ago, no go on reworked trajectories this year but they have some ideas for '14...

re accurate speeds and pitch types in general: they supposedly hired a new stats tracking company, but I don't know if that will affect pitch repertoire.

Oh, I see... I got that confused. I guess I'm wondering how these hitter types work in synergy with how the gamer controls the player of specific type. Would be interesting to see how this is working out.

My guess is a point boost or greater chance for solid contact depending on the direction of the batted ball...

I wonder if they program it for both sides. Teix is Extreme Pull from the left side, but probably Pull or Balanced from the right.

and for created players it's generated random ?

Too bad it could not be shown through the PCI where one side of it could be smaller or bigger then the other side based on if they were a pull or push hitter. A balanced hitter would have a normal oval PCI.

can you see ball on bat contact from behind the pitcher camera defore it switches to fioelding view??
is there a button to activate cutoff man while ball is in the air??
are there any new fielding camera views or can you customize one??
is there any option to play a season with all fictional player names???
Pretty sure no on roster files, no on fielding, not sure about the others.
