Re: PS3 to PS4 Transition: What to Expect?

The Show is so great on current gen that I really don't have much to ask for. The only two things I'd really like to see are vastly improved stadiums and vastly improved player creation. I think both are just the type of things that could be accommodated on an improved hardware system.

I'd love to see fully licensed minor leagues, but I think that's a licensing issue and not a hardware memory issue.

My #1 concern is how long will they make MLBTS for PS3, until they stop like they did the PS2. I have no intentions of buying a PS4 until I can no longer buy The Show.

I guess they will make the game for the 3 for at least a couple of years after they launch the new console but I wonder what they will do to improve it or if they work with a split dev team with the PS4 getting the cream of the crop as it were.

Yea.. They made it for PS2 up to 2011. That's 5 years the PS2 got a version while the PS3 was being sold, BUT - it really wasn't worked on much.

Really? Even if the PS3 version doesn't get the new features or modes that the PS4 version might get? I would have to assume that the upgraded game/engine won't just be better looking. How long did you stick it out on PS2?

Ive had my PS3 for 3 years now.

I have $12K in kids school tuition to pay for annually.
Video game consoles dont even rank in the top 10 of priorities!

So they'll be putting out 3 games, PS4, PS3, and vita? Dear lord, thats alot in a one year cycle. I know they doid it with the last gen (ps3, ps2, psp), but the PS2 and PSP games werent really advances each year, they were mostly roster updates after a year or two, as the focus was on the PS3.

But your in a unique situation and makes sense. Most people would think you're crazy who frequent these boards, because well everyone is a bit crazy here, especially when it comes to The Show. I honestly don't plan to get a PS4 or xbox 9000 the first year either, being a MS student. But when it comes down to it I'm probably lying to myself and I'll probably scrounge up some extra dough to get one in the end.

I'm hearing like 500 bucks in that range for the new console so as much as I tell myself I ain't biting off the bat I will probably break down and get the damn thing myself.

That is probably a good idea. The PS4 from what I hear is going to have an excellent launch lineup and The Show will follow slightly after. If you have a decent TV even a 1080p version of what we have now with better anti-aliasing and such would be amazing imo.

I read somewhere on IGN that the PS4 might run 400 dollars but that's jus a rumor. Im with you hope the gameplay catchs up to the graphics a lot faster then it has this gen . To me gameplay has not been any better on this gen then it was on last gen to many features left out bc of graphics also.

                              Wow...I absolutely disagree with this.

...and what features do you think have been left out because of graphics?(if you don't mind me asking)

Yeah,m I really cant afford $500 unless I win FFB again.
I bought my PS3 for $300. Sold my PS2, 4 controllers & 24 games just to buy it.
I hope I wont have to sell my PS3 games.

Which reminds me...... What happens to our PSN games if we transition from 3 to 4?
