Re: MLB 13 The Show Player Ratings For Every Team
Harper has 78 power vs righties. 55 power vs lefties. Screen shot earlier in feb.I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

I thought that would be the case. Why should Harper have a higher power rating against righties when Trout has higher SLG and OPS against righties for 2012???Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Player Ratings For Every Team
You know I have always kind of felt that the number rating thing is a little stupid, but I don't really have any problem with it. What I don't get is why people get so into it. If you think you can make the rating better, than just go and edit. I sure plan on doing that.
For example, John Lackey, who did not pitch last year and the year before that had an ERA 6.00+, is rated 80. A-Rod, 88. Felix Doubrant had a ERA just below 5.00, and has never done any better than that, 82.
I am not saying I am going to make Lackey, A-Rod, and Doubrant horrible, but I just don't think they deserve to be that high. So, quite simply, you don't like it, just change it yourself.Comment

Cain and Weaver also pitched in pitcher's parks more often than Darvish did. They are all 3 great pitchers with different assets. Lets just leave it at that...Comment

Strikeouts are more reliable and a better indication of consistency found in a pitcher. Groundouts are nice too, but a strikeout is always an out. Groundball and Flyball pitchers rely on some "luck".

Ah I guess I was just confusing it with the fact that we have both numbers and bars and Russel(?) said that everyone would be happy because of that. Sorry for the confusionComment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Player Ratings For Every Team
The only thing Darvish needs to work on is lowering his walks a bit. His WHIP, HR/9, Opp BA, SLG, and OPS were all in the top 10. It was a factor of pitching in Texas and some tough luck for his higher ERA. If he pitched in SF his ERA would be under 3, guaranteed. Cain would struggle in Texas too. Weaver in 9 starts over the past 3 years has an ERA of 5.86 in Arlington too. People forget how much of a hitter's park it is.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Player Ratings For Every Team
I'd love to see Trout's hit charts transferred to Comerica, with no marine layer, and projected facing more pitching staffs of Min, KC, and Cle instead of Oak, Tex, and Sea (2 of those being pitcher parks).
His numbers would crush Miggy's...from the leadoff spot....without playing in April...lol. I don't think people realize how historic Trout's season was.
He also had the highest steal percentage for someone who stole as many as he did. Led the league in runs created.
He was also rated one of the best defenders (at any position) in baseball. He could hit .250 and still be valuable, lol.
I wish Jose Bautista didn't break his wrist and led the AL in home runs so people wouldn't bring up the arbitrary triple crown. Or if Hamilton didn't get injured and had 11 more RBI like he was on pace for.Last edited by ParisB; 02-27-2013, 02:41 AM.Comment
