Has anyone playing M.O.M. seen any successful pickoff attempts yet? Also, I noticed that the CPU is still calling pitchouts on its own. I thought all these issues were addressed by SCEA this year.

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
Love the game. I thought I was a tough guy so I set pitch speed to the most realistic (10) but I realize I cant really play at that speed yet. 7 feels good. I also played with the strike zone off from the beginning with a zoomed in catcher cam but I had no clue where the strike zone actually was until I turned it on.
I left it on for a few batters now I see it better but I hate it on when im pitching, anyway to turn it on just for hitting?Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
In Rtts as a starting pitcher with API on, is the little yellow circle where they want the pitch to start, or end?
What I mean is say it wants me too throw a slider, is the yellow where it wants the ball before or after the break?NFL - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

That is typically the desired end location, after break. Although, sliders can be pretty effective if you start them there against same-handed batters.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
I play with the pitch selection display off as well. And you are right in your understanding (Knight, you are off lol)... The number of fingers directly correspond to the pitch repetoire. 1 = X, 2 = O, 3 = Triangle, 4 = Square, and 4~wiggled = R1. Of course, closed fist = pitch out. I usually turn my pitch marker to FADE, so I have an idea of pitch break. I also peek at the select screen to see what a CPU pitcher's repertoire is, and store it in the back of my mind until a new pitcher comes in, and I repeat the process.
Now the location call can be a little confusing, so I usually peek at the players cold zones and throw to the best location. Anyway, generally 1 tap means high in the zone, 3 is for low in the zone... low and away or low and in are pretty distinguishable.
There is actually a more in-depth feature set regarding the battery signals, but I won't butcher it and misquote Woodweaver's explanation lol. It is tied to the CPU giving more complex signs when batting from the broadcast view, or in CPU vs. CPU games.
That's easy enough, but the location the catcher is calling for is very erratic. I'll often hit the R2 button just to see where the catcher is calling for, and I've noticed that a sign for up and away will be the same for middle in. I don't care really about the CPU, as I use catcher view when batting,Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
I would LOVE if we could get some more info on how the location is determined. I played for the first time with pitch selection off (and I thank you guys for the clarification, as I always assumed that 1 = FB, 2 = CB, etc...of course, all I had to do was pay attention to the finger(s), then hit R2 to recycle the sign, and I would've seen that it goes best to worst pitch).

It would be awesome if different catchers called games differently ie a higher skilled catcher calls the game smarter than a poor game caller but I dont believe there are any attributes for that.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
Did they intentionally make it so postseason games are an entire difficulty level harder?
I can't hit or pitch properly in postseason. It has nothing to do with quality of team I face cause you can face even the worst of teams and suddenly they go all crazy against you. 8 runs in just 2 innings against my SP who is like 95 overall. Not to mention the pathetic fielding my guys suddenly play. Balls going through their legs, outfielders stumbling when running to the ball and everything terrible imaginable.Comment

Go to a site like this...
Store your photos and videos online with secure storage from Photobucket. Available on iOS, Android and desktop. Securely backup your memories and sign up today!
You can get a free account...
Then you use a USB stick to move the photos from your PS3 to your PC....upload the pics and get the image link(you'll see it when you click on the uploaded pictures)...it's on the right.
Then you just paste that link here into a thread.
It's great for franchise and dynasty threads.
