FWIW I didn't have any stuttering issues until I redeemed my online pass. First game after that and stuttering was quite frequent. When I sign out of PSN the stuttering goes away.

I have not redeemed my online pass yet, I wonder if that is why I am not seeing stuttering. I am also using the pitcher cam though. Ill try to play a game using the batter view without adding in the online pass and let you know

I haven't redeemed my code yet, and I still stutter. I also use the catcher view while batting.

Not sure if it's the same thing as I haven't bought 13 yet, but in 12 I had what sounds like the same exact issue: the screen would occasionally stutter for a second as a pitch left the pitcher's hand. After searching online I found the suggestion to clear the cache of my PS3. Once I did that the problem disappeared.

bought the game today straight to play now game second pitch stutter, after that no stutters but i also started doing the prepitch warm up swing every time maybe something to try

Played today and not one single stutter. I always get at least 1 stutter in the first inning so my situation isn't as bad as most

I have watched one more CPU vs CPU game, and not a single stutter. I'm pretty sure that the XP thing and some kind of logging mechanism causing this problem...

I have not redeemed my online pass and I have never seen the stutter. I seriously doubt the XP system is to blame because that is on everyone's game and not everyone sees it.

has nothing to do with online pass. I haven't redeemed mine and I get the pitcher stutter.

Well then! lol I guess we still have no clue as to what it is then.

EDIT: What about the in-game ticker? I have it set to off. In fact I have been setting it to off since it was introduced because I simply don't trust it. I don't want any real life online data running through the game because I feel like all streaming does is create lag.

I haven't seen many stutters(if any) while in-game(excluding online) but the stuttering is pretty bad while in the menus.

i also tried that as well, turn off ticker, mlb updates, logoff of PSN etc. Sometimes you think you found the culprit but then you get the issue again. A patch is required.

Well then that means the problem is within the game itself. We have to think about what possibly loads usually when the pitcher is delivering the pitch. Maybe it's fielder glitch as they take a position on the field. Maybe it only happens during certain scenario's like when there is a runner on 2nd only. It might also have to do with saving. Maybe it happens when the PS3 is trying to save data.

Ya it was awful to start now its been fine the last two days. I cleared my hard drive and shut off my Internet and media connections

I've had the same experience. The first game I played, the stuttering was unbearable. It happened on over 90% of pitches and the delay was 1 actual second. In addition, the game would stutter for 1 second when a put out was recorded (ie. right when the ball hits the glove). However, the next few games (including a replicated game of my first one) had only a few instances of minor stuttering on pitches. Today I've had zero instances of any stuttering.

I have the digital download version, installed on a new 750 GB hard drive which I bought partly because I wanted to improve my system's performance on digital games. The original hard drive would cause major lag at times on games (might have been dying), so I upgraded to a 7200 RPM drive. Other than the first game, I've had little to no issue regarding the stuttering. Makes me wonder if it is indeed random or if the stuttering occurs because the system needs to cache some files the first few times you play the game (spitballing here).
