The issue with the fix method posted is this is its asking a whole lot of the user to troubleshoot in this way. Its not even conclusive that this has an affect as the stuttering seems quite random from people's accounts of it so far. Even if it does it seems like a very temporary fix. I really do not want to be doing these fixes during the year while playing and its why I am really really hoping the PSN version doesn't experience this. I'd think it could be worse though if the rebuild method has an affect since all the game data will be on the HDD at that point.
This needs to be addressed in some way, even if it can't be patched. There is more than enough evidence to support that this is some form bug as its very specific in what moments it occurs in during gameplay and has a direct affect on how the game is played.
But input lag from the TV would not cause the video of the game to freeze for a brief moment. If what people are experiencing looks like this.
They are experiencing what people are referring to as "pitch stutter"
Cozybean captured this video via a capture device (Elgato Game Capture HD I believe) which takes a direct feed from the PS3 via component I think. And since these captured videos show the same stutter as the videos recorded via camera off of TVs I'd say its the video feed that has these hitches in them and is unrelated to the TV itself.Last edited by MrOldboy; 03-03-2013, 04:30 AM.Comment

I had 1-2 stutters per game in 12, but I could live with it. I have just rebuilt the database and restored the file system on my ps3, then disabled media servers. I have played two games without stutters.

It is not lag, Input lag does not cause stutter. Go to the Royals vs Phillies video that is posted here by Steve. The 1:05 mark watch when the cpu pitcher is about to release the pitch. That is what I am talking about and it happened last year but this year it happens more
It is not the ps3. I have the fat and the new small one that just came out.
I am not connected to the media server or to the internet and did the safe mode method and nothing works. It is there and other times when throwing to third or first there is a slight stutter that i can deal with but not when it comes to hitting.
And yes I am on 720p as it should be.
Google the issue and see that I am not the only one talking about thisComment

Nope. I am not connected to anything and I have that same thing happen to me as the 1:05 mark of that video when the cpu pitcher is about to release the pitch.
You will see that this is an issue and we hope that SCEA fixes itComment

We understand you have the stuttering problem, they will look into it I am sure they read these threads. So enough comments about it already, please.You are not going to solve it writing about it every other comment. I don't get how some guys aren't seeing this? It is really evident! It can't be a bad batch of games. It's also wide spread over different types of ps3 models. Very weirdComment

I have 8-12 and I have never seen this ever. Those who are experiencing the stutter did you see it in the past couple of editions of the game or is this the first time?Comment

Happened briefly in 12 and 11. I had to reformat the hard drive and downscale for it to improve. I bought a new ps3 in the fall because my old one dies and I didn't change the media server to disabled. I did yesterday and so far so good. But I'm not holding my breath. It's the only game that has stuttered.Comment
