Made my guy a 5'' 10' 1B/OF for the Marlins. He played 6 months down in AA and then a month in AAA. I'm on the roster in August and starter as soon as I come up. Then I find out the marlins are in last place by 45 games. By the end of the season we have brought ourselves within 30 games. To start off the offseason the Marlins decide hey lets trade Stanton for Puig and now the 1 batter is Solano, 2. is Marcell Ozuna, 3. is me, 4. Puig, 5. Morrison and I'm in month 2 but we are down by 1 game in the standings

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Created a closing pitcher and was drafted by the Royals. Finished first season all in AA. 58 gp, 1-3 with a 3.14 era. 37 saves and 9 blown saves. I was demoted to middle reliever during the middle of the season abd gained back closer role about 5 weeks later.
Achievements so far is good. Made the AA allstar team, made Futures game roster, and won the Double-A Texas League Championship Series...got the save in title clinching game recording the final out and was mobbed by teammates lol.
Signed one year deal with Royals to vecome their closer in Triple-A ball. I'm a 61 overall at 19 years old. Have the Darth Vader theme playing when I come into the game. My goal is to become the greatest closer of all-time.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Made a pitcher Kou Kitamura (5'8 164) A power pitcher who's repertoire consist of a Running Fastball/Slider/Cutter.
Got put down to the Generals to start off and got my first start.
Got absolutely slammed in my first inning for 3 runs only made it like 3 innings while spotting them a 4-1 lead. Ended the game with an 8.71 ERA 0 strikeouts 4BB giving up 9 hits and of course a loss. 0-1
2nd game:Got spotted 3 run in the first! Gave up a run in the first inning(Thought I was going to have a repeat performance) then go next 5 innings giving up no runs but 6 hits and finished with 3BB/4 strikeouts/8 hits/1 Earned and get the W 4 to 2. (1-1)
3rd game: Was cooking, through first 6 innings, 5 hits/6ks/1BB 0ER unfortunately I allowed my first HR on a slider which was pretty much a bad ball to swing on but whatever in the 7th which tied up the game got pulled got a no decision and we lost 5-3.
4th game: 2 innings in bruised my hand couldn't finish the game. Team ended up losing 8-1. Had 1hit/3Ks/0BB/0ER
So my stats so far (1-1) 3.41 ERA/16K/8BB/24hits in around 17 IP
6-5 (Started 1-5) 13GS(8QS) 1.87 ERA 2CG 1 shutout 16ER/63K/9BB/92 hits in 77.0 IP
Moved up to AAA
14GP(Started out as a reliever) Went 4-3 8GS 3.05 ERA 1CG 1 Shutout 22ER/44K/5BB/59hits in 65.0 IP
Moved up to MLB at the end of the year! Had by far my best stint than any other point in my career
10GP(8QS) 1.83 ERA 3CG 3 Shutouts 14ER/45K/5BB/57 hits in 69 IPComment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
REALLY strugglingvin Triple-A ball the 2014 season! I am honestly just not ready to pitch at this level yet. My season stats at Triple-A is:
16 games; 1-2 9.24era 8sv 5bsv 12.2ip 5hr 4bb 8k 2.68whip
July 6th now and was relieved of closer duties and now a mrp. Wish I could humbly request to be sent down to Double-A
At first I really struggled. My ERA was at 9.85 a couple terrible outings to begin the month of August. After that, starting on the 4th of July evening I had a excellent outing against the Isotopes. I had seemed to settle in the new role and became more mature as a 19 year old kid. I continued this throughout the rest of the season, becoming reliable LRP out of the bullpen.
Still a horrendous season...no playoffs. But the end of the year had to give the Kansas City Royals organization some hope and gave me some confidence...right?
My 2014 seasonn all in AAA were:
45gp--- 2-5 6.23era 8sv 7bsv 13hld 9hr 23k 4bb 1.74whipComment

Was offered a 1 year contract worth 126,000 for a AAA Bullpen position. Hopefully by the allstar break I can get my closer pitcher duties back! Will return allstar break to update.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Did they ever change it that improving your player counts on improving a couple core ratings? Contact, Power, Speed, Fielding for position players? /9 ratings and Stamina for pitchers? I like the mode but that should change if it hasn't already. All the attributes should have a impact.BTW, I'm still playing 11, although I have ordered 12.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
It's been a couple months since I posted on here, and a lot has changed with my shortstop. Here's my current career numbers by season with the giants-
2014- rookie year, played 83 games: .353 21hrs 49rbis, lost to Reds in NLDS
2015- .411 63hrs 179rbis, beat Angels in world series 4-3
2016- .435 72hrs 170rbis, beat Tigers in world series 4-3
2017- .433 81hrs 225rbis, beat Blue Jays in world series 4-1
2018- .463 73hrs 225rbis, beat A's in world series 4-1
2019- .436 72hrs 210rbis, lost to Brewers in NLCS 4-2 (Brewers beat Royals in WS 4-2)
2020- .443 81hrs 244rbis, lost to Cubs in NLDS 3-2 (Brewers beat A's in WS 4-3)
2020 was my 6th full year of MLB service, which meant unrestricted free agency in the offseason. It was a fun run with the Giants, compiling 6 consecutive 107+ win seasons and winning 4 World Series in 7 years. However, I was completely sick of everything Giants. Their uniform, their home park, and even the division. I played around 520 games against divisional opponents. I needed new scenery, so I decided to sign a 1 year contract with the Kansas City Royals. We rated 1st in the MLB and are currently 13-8.
Mike Moustakas has started off slow, hitting just .242 with 7 homers in April. So I know we'll heat up once he returns to his normal numbers (he hit around .300 from 2015-2020). I don't know if I'll stay in KC next year, but as of now I have no plans of leaving. I just don't wanna sign any multi year deals because I don't wanna risk getting trapped in a contract with a crappy team.
Currently I'm hitting .505 (50-for-99) with 12hrs and 41rbis. I know my career stats are ridiculous, but I enjoy putting up crazy stats (not too insane though). If my average stays around .500 I'll have to bump the difficulty. I currently play on veteran with default sliders.
I'm approaching some milestones, too. Last season I passed 1000 career steals, and I'm currently sitting at 1,862 hits and 475 homeruns. I should be able to get both 2,000 hits and 500 homers around August of this season.Comment

^^ How can you play it on such an easy level and settings? Your career numbers are beyond unrealistic. I don't see the fun in no challenge.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Well in the past you could improve your player very quickly by putting points in only a handful of ratings-like I mentioned before Speed, Contact, Power, and Fielding. Putting points in other ratings didn't improve your players overall or corresponding ratings, except to the extent that they also trained the above ratings.Getting promoted also depended on reaching a certain overall or improving the sub rating in the scouting report.
On the other hand, it did you no good to train up the other ratings as far as improving your players overall, or if it did it was a lot slower. I was just wondering if there was much value in training the other rating now, or if advancement and improving your player still depended on improving the core ratings.Comment

Some people enjoy that, remember the mode is all about you. You want to be that guy that sets the league on fire, you can do that. Some people play RTTS as an escape from the grind of franchise mode. That said, I'm enjoying the realism I am getting. I hit .346 2hr 49rbi and 33SB in AA and became a top 50 prospect, but currently I am in AAA hitting .233 7hr 47rbi and 44SB. Hopefully I don't lose that top 50 designation.Athletics Franchise:

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I play with and resolve however so I'm not brought up too quickly to fill an injury. I think the game does a poor job at roster movements when injuries occur. So in rtts I turn them off and in season mode I manually create injuries in the league at randomComment
