When I first started my RTTS I got drafted as a right fielder by the Red Sox. Me being an O's fan I said "nope" and started again. Now I'm on the Braves and a month into my first year in AA ball I am batting a .520 with 11 HR's and I believe almost 30 RBI's. When I get home from class I'll have to check that. After I do my research paper of course -_-

Currently in my first year in the majors with the White Sox as their everyday Shortstop. Through 22 games we are 12-10, 1 game behind the Royals?!?!. My stats at this point are .540 average, 20 HR, 42 RBI, 47 hits, 10 doubles with a 1.912 ops. Leading the MVP, silver slugger, batting title, rookie of the year and Hank Aaron Award votes.

              Here's a trick:

For everyone who only wants to play for one specific team and is tired of getting traded to a different team before making the majors, turn the injury setting to "manual" and go into your ballclub's disabled list. From here, manually injure each player who plays the same position as you at the AAA and MLB level for your team (dislocated ankle - out 240 days usually does the trick).

After a month to a month and a half of your player doing average or better than average, you'll get called up to AAA and then soon to the big leagues. Once in the big leagues for a month or so, you can "un-injure" all the players and you should still remain in the majors, depending on your rating and success.

Note: If you aren't currently playing for the team you want to, but have a high rating and are still stuck in the minors, injure the players of the team you want to play for and there is a chance they will trade for you and put you in the majors right away as well.

OR...just wait until Free Agency like a true player would.

Analog is the best feeling and most realistic way to hit. IMO

thats not really a trick thats cheating.
If you just go to sim through date and get traded after a game exit out and reload the save... then you shouldnt get traded again... thats a trick

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this. I'm doing RTTS pitcher and needed one more game to meet my 2 game minimum requirement for the Quality Start advancement goal. But it seemed that the closer I got to the end of the advancement period, the more errors my outfielders made which cost me that one quality start that I needed.

For example, I was 2 games away from the end of the advancement period. The first out of those two games, my team made 3 errors. Then the following game they committed 2 errors. Needless to say I didn't make a quality start in either game because I got yanked because of all the runs that came in as a result of those errors. In fact, in one of those games, my center fielder fielded a single which held a runner at 3rd, but never threw the ball towards the infield... so the runner at 3rd ran home (cue that "wah-wah" error music). I was pretty upset about that.

Am I the only one who's dealing with this? Thanks.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I started a SS and got drafted by the Rangers then got traded to the Brewers. For some reason in the beginning of the career my guy had Power for days, i'd smash stuff out left and right. Then about half way through the season i got called up to AAA and all of a sudden i couldn't even take a BP pitch out of the yard. Then i got sent back down to AA and it stuck. My timing was always Good or Perfect and i just couldn't hit any HR's anymore... i got hits here and there but it'd just magically say i was swinging upper-right when the pitch was mid-away and i had good timing and perfect stride so i'd just dink a ground ball. I hit 27 HR's in first half of AA season before All-Star break and in the last 1/3rd when i got sent back down i hit a total of 4 more. I moved up to All-Star part way and adjusted a couple of the sliders.

Then i signed a 1-yr contract as AAA starter. I had a grayed out 'end spring training' so i just simmed it and ended up MLB Bench at beginning of season which is a real treat... (sarcasm). But man, i dont know how you guys just made the jump from AA to MLB, the pitch speed and everything is sooooo amped up. I also didn't put any added points into my guy, all earned.

are you guys that do super well hitting on HoF and whatnot using analog or button push? Button push i could see how it'd be easy to hit .520 in the MLB after just getting there.

is anyone's pitching rotation not getting lit up in RTTS? I'm a SS, and routinely watch all of my starters struggle with walks and hits to an alarming rate.

can sliders help with this? I try different settings but it doesn't seem to help them, horrible teams will have just huge innings on them out of nowhere. These 14-4 games happen in real life I realize, but I'd like a couple 2-1, 3-2 type games mixed in there. All their ERA's are in the 4.500-7.00 range..seems like other teams have the same issue too (even the aces).

hope this can be addressed in a patch without having to restart RTTS...

Hey guys, i sold my xbox and all my games to get a ps3 and the show. I made a rtts 3rd baseman. He was drafted to the athletics and i was pretty excited about getting to play with yoenis eventually... well i got traded and now im in the reds triple a. I crushed the ball in double a (somewhat adjusted sliders, nothing drastic though). And im hitting pretty decent in triple a.

What are some of the main attributes to focus on improving in yalls opinion?

It depends. If you want your player to be a power hitter, increase Power. If you want your guy to be a contact hitter who can run fast and steal bases, increase Contact, Speed, and Baserunning ability.

I like to spend my training points to even out my attributes. I don't spend any points on baserunning, fielding, or bunting, though. I focus on Power, Contact, Batting Clutch, Vision, Discipline, and Speed.(but I stop increasing speed once it gets to 50)

Since my player is just a right fielder, I don't really focus on fielding attributes that much.

                            Durability is also somewhat important.

Does anyone know how many training points it takes to go from say 30 to 99? How many training points it takes to be 99 on everything? A ballpark figure (pardon the pun) would be great too.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

So I just finished my Rookie year with my CF for the Cincinnati Reds and I had a good year. I made the All Star team beating out Revere and Cutch. Also won Rookie of the year and finished the league leader in Triples with 15!

Here are my stats for the first year:

                                .282 27 HR 88 RBI 167 Hits 96 Runs and 60 SB CS 13

Not a bad year right? I was certain I was going to win the Stolen Base crown with 60 but I lose to someone by 3 stolen bases. It should be noted that I was on fire going into the All Star break with about 18 HRs and batting a little over .300 and that all went bad after mid-season. Until I found my swing again late Summer.

Overall, I enjoyed my first MLB year in the RTTS and now with the Reds heading into the playoffs I hope we can make it to the WS!
