Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

2 weeks into my 3rd season as a SS with the Mariners Organization. spent 1 month in AA Jackson Generals first season called up to AAA for rest of first season as a bench player filling in for an injured player. made the futures game. moved back down to AA with month to go on the season. 2nd season AAA starter with Tacoma Rainiers for entire season. All star starter and finished season leading in all categories except doubles and triples. Now in the Majors starting SS batting clean up! My first hit in the majors was also a HR which i was happy with. 2 weeks in batting 2.30, 3HR, 6RBI, 4SB. Big step up from the minors difficulty wise was batting almost 400 in triple A lol. Love RTTS

2nd year LH Starter for the StL Cardinals. Wie yin chens delivery Pedro Alvarez swing Switch Hitter 6'1 205 1st year played all the way thru AA ball. Did the futures and as games. 2nd year had a good spring got the long releif role for the big club and after month got in the rotation. Since I deserve to be knocked around some I havnt selected a fourth pitch Instead completed my 3 pitches and now putting at least 100 points everytime on hitting attributes for my pitcher. Mainly RH power. 27L / 35R contact. 37L / 62R power. Bryce VizzKaino is his name. The K would have been backwards if possible. I have dubbed him the Big Z lol Not that big but look at my screen name lol Close enough. My first no doubter went above the bullpen in Colorado. So freaking awesome. And I must say for those 1 run games this is where I have an extra say. Even prolonging innings are a plus. Reminds me of Mike Hampton , Carlos Zambrano , and Rick Ankiel.
I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.

Jus played a game with my pitcher. Hit a solo shot on a 3-0 count off chris sale. Made the game 4-1. Next ab bases loaded I work a 3-1 count thinking sweet I'm taking this walk gladly. Just another added bonus, " fear factor." Well I swung at the next pitch that would have been ball 4 So it's 3-2 and I take the next pitch that should have been ball 4 but is called strike 3 !! Lol Wht a coincidence after the post earlier today.

You were hitting with your pitcher in the AL?

StL Cardinals. Chris sale was traded to the reds. He had like 249 ks. lead NL.
I lost my last 2 starts of the season. No run production. Got the cy young and NL MVP. Whatever category I didn't lead Kris medlen did. We faced off in a 1 game playoff and we went scoreless. I gave up a solo shot then the bullpen imploded. End of year 2. Signed a 4 year Deal dirt cheap. Prolly leave when yadi does.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Is it me or is to a bit unrealistic to throw a no hitter 2 games into your career?

I made a new RTTS pitcher and was drafted by the Atlanta Braves - Knuckle Ball, Knuckle Curve, Sweeping Curve and Screwball. Mostly a stamina pitcher so he can go all game long throwing that nasty knuckle ball.

Granted I'm in AA, but I figured it shouldn't be that easy to get one..... or maybe I just got lucky? I did end up with I think one guy on base from balls but still no hits allowed. After this though and I really don't care that I did - I bought points to bump him up. I figured if I can throw one this easily I felt within the theme of his career, "In his Universe..." that the Braves would just fast track this superstar from Japan. No such luck lol, but he has since thrown 3 shutouts for the year so far.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I made an awesome CF named Shane Walden he plays for the Pirates and was drafted by them with the 9th pick of the 2013 MLB Draft. He finished the 2018 season, he has won the MLB triple crown fin the MLB, looking to making 4 straight, and he did . He has incredible power, but he doesn't strikeout as much as he should. He'll probably reach 700 home runs faster than Barry Bonds. He has a chance to have more career stolen bases and career caught stealings than Rickey Henderson. Shane Walden has had some pinch hit appearances in his dominant career, but he has never entered a season with a bench role. Shane Walden is an extreme pull hitter who can hit the ball to all fields. He got career home run #500 against the Athletics.

I think the baserunning is pretty good, I have had more stolen bases in this years version than MLB 12 and MLB 11, but I've had more caught stealing, though.

Speaking of hits only home runs and singles, that used to be only the MLB hits that my CF Shane Walden had, but he has some doubles and a couple triples.

Turning the corner with my CF and my 1B for sure. I have an 11-game hitting streak with my CF on the Giants and just mashed a 442 foot bomb, and my 1B had pretty much the weirdest career ever (called up straight from Double A to the Rays, then sent to AAA, then injured for the year and back up to MLB in 2015) and is going for 80 home runs this year. It's a blast with both!

I started a closer career and after making 10 or 11 consecutive saves in AA, I got promoted to AAA. But I'm just a relief pitcher, not the closer, which kinda bums me out. And I wanted to stay AA longer.

Started a career as myself at CF. Not much power, not much contact neither to be honest, some speed, some defence, well, a project since I started 48 overall and now at 51.

Got drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and started with the AA club in Reading. After 14 games played, I'm batting .333 with 0 HR and 5 RBI. I got 3 stolen base to go with that.

I think I'm going to have some times in the AA since I can't hit for the fence yet, but that's a good thing, I'm going to be able to improve my swinging.

As a team, we're 4th in the division, 3 games back of Binghamton. Our pitching is awful so I don't expect much from the team to begin with.
