Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

So the good news first-I'm starting 3rd baseman for the Reds in my 2nd year, I'm leading for the ROY, and I'm 2nd in the NL with 10 Hrs.

The bad news-I'm completely lost at the plate against MLB pitching. I've tried switching between Rookie-All Star difficulties, but I can't seem to avoid strikeouts. I've managed to keep the BA above .250 for now, but really wishing now I had spent 2013 in Louisville.I'm currently at Veteran with mostly default sliders. I just hope in time I can make adjustments.I'm not feeling optimistic about my stat goals-5 HR and 11 RBI this time.

Has anyone tried to make a RTTS back catcher? I'm thinking of making one but was wondering if I could get some input if it is fun or not. Thanks in advance for any help!

I love RTTS, probably the best thing that baseball video games ever made (imo). But godd*mn getting called up is a pain in the ***. I'm hitting better than Berry Bonds, and not only did I not get called up, I got traded. (though I did ask for it numerous times.

I'm a little glad though cause I was a 2B on the Yankees (drafted by them) and they sent me to the Twins for Justin Mornaue

It's such a good feeling when you start becoming a feared hitter and MLB pitchers are pitching around you. I have like 10 walks in the past 7 games.

My Reds just won the 2014 World Series. The big moment of those playoffs was when I hit a 3 run HR down the right field line to beat the Daimondbacks in a elimination game 8-6. It really was a Carlton Fisk moment. I wish I had saved the video.

I just experienced my quickest call up ever, my 1b hit .700 with 6 homers in three games so after three AA games I was promoted to AAA

Made myself as a shortstop (my real life position) and got drafted to the White Sox. Went 0 for 3 in my first game but bounced back with a 2 For 4 outing with a double and two steals the next game.

Just recently started a new RTTS as a 3B for the Braves. Just finished the weirdest/craziest game I've ever experienced on The Show. We (Mississippi Braves) came out and scored 12 (not a typo) runs in the 1st inning. My guy had a 2-RBI single and a 3-run HR in the inning; and I hit another solo HR later in the game.

Anyway, I jumped out to a 12-0 lead and still ended up losing.

I can't believe it. Twice in a row my pitcher has got a .300 slugging goal, and this time around he's expected to hit a home run. My manager must think i'm Reggie Jackson. I've already failed once, so I might be moved out of the AA rotation next time around.

Hey guys I have a rtts in MLB 12 in 2017 as a player but I was thinking of making a pitcher in 13 but I'm a stat junkie so would the wonky stats in later years ruin the mode for me?

It's always been that way in RTTS and franchise. Too many high potential A and B position players, not enough skilled coaches, not enough high potential pitchers. Both modes are fun at the start, lose a little something once you get past the first 3 years.

My SP finally made it into the Orioles rotation at the start of the 2nd year. He started with the Reds, but got traded last year with Cozart in a package for the Reds to get Hardy.

I've currently got 4seam, running fastball, and curve-all ratings at 60. That must be MLB minimum. I still can't throw the curve for a strike to save my life though.

I started another SP with different pitches. Shortly after being moved to the AAA rotation, my manager had me start two straight games on consecutive days. I was notified I was tired in the 1st inning. Somehow, I won both games.

I had the same thing happen to me. Coming off something like a complete game shutout, the manager thought it was smart to move me up in the rotation, and I had to start back-to-back games. I managed to get through 5 innings, allowing just 1 run and 3 or 4 hits, but the wheels finally fell off in the 6th when I started the inning off with a lead-off walk, bloop single, and a 3-run bomb. We were still up a couple of runs so I was left in the game (for some reason) and managed to get two more outs before giving up a double and getting yanked. We ended up losing. Still don't understand that little "glitch" or whatever.

Anyway, what's the best way to make it where you play mostly every day? I've got a 3B in AA. He's having a really good season (.311 AVG, 29 HR, 101 RBI) and I still only play 3 or 4 days in a row before getting a 1 or 2 day break. The most frustrating is when I get back-to-back days off.
