Here is a good one. If you are the Mets would you trade Matt Harvey for 2 yrs of David Price ? If the Rays got Wil Myers for 2 years of James Shields..what do they get for 2 years of David Price this winter?

I agree with the Franklin assumption but they also said Ackley couldnt play 2B so you never know. I will say this, there isnt a ton of teams with the depth of prospect trade chips then the Mariners..hello Giancarlo

Lol no way the Mets would ever do that. They have explicitly told everyone who's asked that Harvey and Wheeler are not even up for discussion.

That's probably because they've never been offered David Price for either of them

I could see a Wheeler or Harvey for Price trade happening if it was brought up. Doubt the Rays will want to trade him yet though...

I think if they were offered Harvey + Syndergaard + Fulmer/Famila they would have a hard time saying no.

Well call it unrealistic or not fair but it's my franchise so whatever. Thought I'd share what I pulled off. I really wanted Hellickson because he progresses well after a year or two and really wanted do dump Wilsons salary

Angels(me) get: Jeremy Hellickson, Ryan Roberts

Rays get: CJ Wilson, Kaleb Cowart (A Prospect)


Angels get: Matt Garza

Cubs get: Joe Blanton, Luiz Jiminez (B prospect), CJ Cron (B prospect)

They still wouldn't do it... DBacks tried to get Wheeler involved with Upton trade but the Mets said no way not happening. It would take a REALLY good deal for them to give up Wheeler or Harvey

Upton Vs Price isnt even a fair comparison. Towers absolutely killed Upton's trade value by shopping him after a year where he was injured, whereas Price is coming off a Cy Young Award season.

Cool. We just shipped off a Cy Young award winner off to Toronto did we not? I doubt that really matters to us.

It really doesn't make sense for us to get David Price. Look at the direction we're headed, using our farm system to build ourselves back up. Why would we trade away one of our main pieces in our rebuilding to get David Price for less then 2 years and take on a way bigger contract as well... Santana's last year on the Mets as well, we're unloading all our big contracts from 05-09 and restarting...

Price >>>>>>>> Wheeler.

How can you judge that from someone who hasn't even pitched in a MLB game yet...?
