Im playing with the astros and my catcher jason castro is out for 2 months so carlos corporan will be starting so i need to trade for a back up since my minor league catchers arent mlb ready yet. So who can i trade that can either start or back up with castro is down? looking for realistic and fair as possible . Thanks

Taylor Teagarden who's the O's backup played college ball in Texas if you want to grab him as the backup. Other names for backups could be Kelly Shoppach or Nick Hundley.

Deciding on Corporan or (Wesley Wright, RP) + J. Mier for Dee Gordon.

Corporan doesn't really carry any trade value so Wright and Mier is the better option for you

Trade deadline is 1.5 months away and I just noticed the White Sox are last in the MLB by a lot. Would a Rios return to Toronto be fair/realistic? Wont be making any deals if I dont have to, and definitely not until the deadline, just getting some convo going.

If you guys think yes to above, what would Toronto have to give back for him? Anyone available except Cano, Bautista, EE, Reyes, Cabrera, Johnson in my chise.

Guess it's not totally out of the question but it would probably have to be a bargain price for the Jays to do it. Considering how the White Sox lack overall depth in their minor league system, I'm guessing they'd be looking at acquiring at least to good prospects for Rios in the deal. Not entirely sure the Jays would want to do that

Would the Blue Jays or Sox like Marco Estrada as the #5 in their rotation, right now it's Happ and Morales respectively manning #5....Happ 2-5 5.59 ERA + Morales 0-2 5.57, Estrada 4-5 4.75 so he's a pretty decent upgrade for either team.

Bleh, I really hate Rios, but I don't see why they wouldn't trade him. Although you play 2k so I don't know what you can give up.

Shoppach and Teagarden are trés bien defensively, but Hundley's too crap at defense to be a backup, how 'bout Jeff Mathis?

Corporan doesn't really carry any trade value so Wright and Mier is the better option for you

Corporan is actually an excellent pitch framer for whatever it's worth

Perez + Sardinas + OF prospect not named Perez, I guess, but could anything sub in for the OF prospect? Texas is shallow there.

Pads would want players back that are close to the majors. I think Perez would be a great fit. Sardinas is a few years away but they have Cabrera/Gyorko at SS/2B for the time being. Instead of OF, throw in another arm like Grimm or Buckel. I like Odor but probably too much to include him.

What would it take to get Richie Shaffer from the Rays? And is he someone they'd willingly move? I figured since he's behind Longoria he won't really have a place to play. The Rays are 1.5 games back in the AL EAST and .5 games ahead in the wild card.

Ya on the Rios trade, I dunno if I would make it at the deadline or not Since I like Gose, Colvin/Bau (when not at 3rd), Mekly as my OF. BUT I was just looking at the option and I was interested in what the Jays would have to give for him since hes a nice player, but Sox have like 9-10 wins haha.

BTW AC with Rasmus I traded him to SF remember Blanco was my RF but he got hurt and is out for the season (which sucks). This is the only reason Im looking at the possibility of this.

Lastly, Yea I am playing 2K but I downloaded a decent roster pack with a lot of prospects and the ones that weren't there I created and made as real as I could for each team haha.

EDIT: The spreadsheet says High C for Rios, but that seems a bit cheap for his caliber of player. Would a High C+Low C do? If so who are some C's on the Jays since I rly dont have The Show and 2K goes by overall and star potential
