That would give me Butler/Aquino for McCann, and Pacheco/Rutledge for Davis. I'd like to have Matusz as a lefty specialist out of the 'pen, any ideas for an extra piece I could throw in to get him? Says a Mid-C on the spreadsheet, so what if I toss in catching prospect Lars Davis? Matusz down in AAA as it is, so I think his worth is pretty limited at the moment.

Do you think I could get anything for Lopez? I don't really need him with Brothers, Escalona, Wilson, and Betancourt dominating in the 'pen. Maybe some MI depth?
I think Aquino is a great piece to add with Butler.

As far as Wilton Lopez goes, you could probably just throw him into the Orioles trade to get Matusz. Just a thought.. I'm not very familiar with the Orioles pen but if Matusz is in AAA, Wilton Lopez is definitely an upgrade there.

Enarnacion + Morrow for Profar + Gallo would work, I'd do that.

      And there's always Bautista.
Obviously they could get more than just Gallardo, it would just be hard to find someone to fit in that trade on the Brewers

There's really no in-between. It'd have to be something like...

Gallardo + Lucroy + Hart + Peralta + Jungmann (sp?)

        FOR

        Profar + McGuinness + C SP prospect + something

It's certainly not every realistic either, especially considering they have Segura at SS.

I don't think the Brewers would be the best fit for Profar. They don't have too much big name players besides Braun and Gallardo and Milwaukee will not trade Braun. Plus, they have Segura. While he's not Profar status, they would trade Gallardo for depth because they don't have a good farm.

Stanton seems like the easiest fit, followed by Price. Blue Jays would have to be out of it for them to trade MLB players for Profar.

Just threw Gallardo out there as a pitcher who could be realistically be on the trading block at some point

... which, sadly, is a fairly likely situation.

The Jays' MLB board (which has migrated lol) seems to be fairly undecided on who would win that but I think we'd make that trade as a fanbase. I just don't know if I could ever trade Bautista, really, he's our hero haha.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

The calendar's about to turn to June in the 2nd year of my 'chise. So far my 2014 Astros are in 1st place by 3.0 games at 31-17.

I've been having problems finding adequate players to man SS and C for about a season and a half now. I love Freddy Galvis's [my current SS] defense, but he's hitting .220 with no homers so far.

So I was looking around and noticed the Indians.

The Indians are terrible (worst in the AL at 17-32 or something) and they have nice players at C and SS they won't be needing anytime soon

                My initial thought:

Astros get: Asdrubal Cabrera + Carlos Santana + [maybe] Ubaldo Jimenez

Indians get: Carlos Correa, Mike Foltynewicz, Elliot Johnson

Thinking is both A-Cab and Ubaldo are in the last year of their deals and Carlos Santana and A-Cab could be long-term players for me. Ubaldo can duke it out for the 5th rotation spot if anyone struggles.

I'm not sure how I feel about giving up Correa, but he'd fit nicely at 3B for the Indians alongside Lindor. The Tribe also gets a B-level SP prospect who's pretty close in Folty [remember it's 2014 here] and a UTIL man in Elliot Johnson who can fill in if Lindor et al slump/get hurt.

Some other guys of mine I'd entertain trading: Chris Carter, Dee Gordon, Jarred Cosart.

                Thoughts?

IMO, Blue Jays don't have the pieces to get Profar. I don't think EE/Bautista would do it. They've done some good things, but those guys are too old/inconsistent for Texas to waste the top prospect in all of baseball.

I don't really have time to delve too far into this but I'll start off by saying that I honestly think that Correa is more valuable than those two. This is under the assumption that A-Cab is underperforming (which I feel like I read in your dynasty but I may be getting that mixed up).

Yeah that is not a deal that I see going down... Not that realistic.

I'm at mid June in my franchise so I'm getting ready to look for trade possibilities

So far I have two trades I've looked at. I can more stats if needed but I'll give a brief description from what I can remember

Bud Norris to the Indians for Dillon Howard. Norris has an ERA of 4.05. Tomlin and McAllister both have ERAs around 5 so one would probably be sent down. Norris gives them a solid starter for their run for the playoffs

Josh Willingham to the Rays for Blake Snell and C potential IF (IDR his name, he's a 2B

Willingham, who's hitting about .298 with 11 HR's and 38 RBI's, gives the Rays a good hitter to hit behind Longoria and Snell gives the Twins more pitching depth

Well Correa hasn't taken any steps forward offensively, and it now being 2014, his star is waning a little.

I realize this would be tough to analyze without stats, but I'm not able to get them atm.

Going off memory, Correa's hitting about .250 in AA after hitting about .230 there last year.

A-Cab and Santana aren't doing anything special, but they're about what you'd expect.

EDIT: I could always swap in Cosart for Correa. I'm not really set on who I'm giving up...this'll probably marinate for a little bit yet.

I'm going back and forth on the trade you proposed,WTNY. IRL, with how Santana and Cabrera are playing, I think that would be a trade in your favor.

It depends on how Santana and Cabrera are doing

Yeah, I need stats. Without them, this isn't gonna be easy. I'll come back when I have the stats.

By the way, I think your trades are fine. Norris and Willingham are both realistic to get dealt. You'd know better about Josh W than me.
