Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Apologies in advance, but this one will make you think a little, hence the spoilers. Not for the trade threader who is faint of heart.

        Point # 1
I'm actually thinking of bringing R.A. Dickey to Houston....Have to wait/think on it. Toronto is only 24-30 (June 1), but they were cellar dwellers last year too. Yes, there's plenty of time to go still.

Basically it'll come down to would I in my right mind deal 19-y/o Correa for a 39-y/o rental? Stranger things have happened. Dickey would fit in my rotation very nicely, though Jays09's bad fortune with him has me thinking I might want to try a play now game to test him out first, lol.

        Point # 2
Also gearing up to deal Stanton away from the Marlins. He's doing much better than last year.

        2013: .225/.293/.423, 29 HR 72 RBI
        2014: .295/.362/.534, 12 HR 32 RBI (51 games)

Not gonna spoil anything, you'll have to read my 'chise . This one's going all the way down to July 31st, BUT I already have some ideas on where to send him...

        Spoiler

        Point # 3
Alright I think I've finally got some workable deals for my team.

Deal 1 - Will do this one between ASB and deadline
        Spoiler

Deal 2 - Will probably do this one around MLB draft time.
        Spoiler

Deal 3 - This one is HIGHLY experimental and I'm not sure if/when it would go down.
        Spoiler

Any thoughts/suggestions on the fairness/realism of these? Would love to hear them. Thanks!

Sounds reasonable. His FIP and ERA are pretty close in this case though.

I approve of the Dickey trade.

Have you considered dealing Price from the Rays? Seems somewhat likely.

On the spreadsheet it's says that J.A. Happ is worth two high Cs. He has a 1-2 record, 4.10 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 26 Hits, 3 HR, 26.1 IP. In around the beginning of June and was wondering which teams I would be able to send him to. I'm the Blue Jays and are currently leading the AL East by 1.5 games over the Yankees. Also, who would I be able to get?

Well if I can get a Dickey trade through in this thread filled with Jays fans, dang, I might have to do it!

btw, I dealt Price to Texas last season for Profar + spects.

I am covertly trying to infuse top talent into the AL West so I have the misfortune of playing these guys.

Well, normally teams leading the division don't sell starters, so there's that.

Also, 2 high Cs is probably a bit much. I think you could realistically get a mid/high C and maybe a low C throw in. I'd look for teams in the hunt that need a starter and that should narrow it down for you.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Looking to make a Deadline deal for KC in my M's Franchise.

They are currently 62-39 (5.5 GB) of the Tigers 68-34. (I know crazy)

But lead the WC by 5 games over Boston for the #1 spot.

Frenchy (.311 11 HR) just went on the DL for the next 6 months and 2B C. Getz is batting .262 with 2 HR and I. Falu is batting .238 2 HR 12 RBI.

I would like to get them a RF and a 2B.

Here are some of the options

Twins (J. Carroll .300 3 HR 41 RBI, and J. Willingham .247 17 HR 57 RBI) need pitching and KC has some good ones.

A's (J. Weeks currently in AAA but batting .307 and C. Young (.220 2 HR 13 RBI) obviously doesn't really look like much help from the stats, but Overall and potential is good.

                      Phillies (C. Utley .301 5 HR 24 RBI and D. Young .235 8 HR 38 RBI or J. Mayberry JR-.288 2 HR in 15 AB's (just called up from AAA).

Colorado (J. Rutledge .235 9 HR 30 RBI, and M. Cuddyer .253 10 HR 32) like Twins really could use some SP.

                      Padres (L. Forsythe-.250 6 HR 18 RBI splitting time with Gyorko (.260 7 HR 49 RBI) and C. Quentin .240 13 HR 43 RBI)

Other options for 2B would be SS A. Cabrera (CLV)-.291 17 HR 52 RBI, but don't really have a good RF option, so they could do J. Giambi .240 20 HR 52 RBI and KC move Hosmer to RF??

Or New York Mets D. Murphy .306 8 HR 50 RBI, but don't have a MLB OF worthing of trading, so would have to look at separate deals.

                      Stat's on KC guy's.

                      W. Davis currently #4 9-7 4.59 ERA, F. Paulino #5 8-7 5.24 ERA, RP L. Hochevar 4.80 ERA in 54 IP.

                      Minor league AAA Y. Ventura 7-8 3.83 111 K's, LHP J. Lamb 4-9 3.86, LHP J. Duffy 6-8 4.61 ERA, RHP K Zimmer 4-9 5.85,

Also on a side note, I am looking at adding a SP for my playoff run, Johan Santana is currently 10-5 with a 3.66. Spread sheet says 2 high C's. He is rated 86 (A). Is his low demand for top prospects back in due to his extreme salary? I just cleared the money space, by trading Morales, so I thought he would be a good fit to ease the burden off Maurer and Hutlzen currently my #4 and #5, and if he does well, maybe I resign him next year to replace J. Saunders.

My thoughts are a young SP like A. Fernandez (74 C) currently 7-4 3.47 in AA as well as SP LHP L. Gohara (55 B) only 18 yrs old and currently in my single A roster.

Also thought I would throw in Corey Patterson (69 C). He is better and higher rated then 3 of their 4 current MLB OF and could start for them..

Also 1 more question. I want to deal B. Ryan (who can't hit) who would be a good fit and for what?

That could work, Brown is batting .231 with 8 HR' 39 RBI, but I don't remember who he gave up. Guess I could go back and read.

In case you havn't noticed, I have done a few deals to bring players to teams that happened in other franchises. I traded Corbin from the Dbacks to the Astros, also traded for D. Murphy to play LF via your thread.
