Garza + Barney = Friedrich + Dahl + Swanner imho, mainly because of my (most likely unnatural) love for Darwin Barney. I mean, my god, is he ever underrated. Maybe it's my Cubbies bias but him and Tulo at MIF would be purty.

Garza is still a rental at this point so to say him and Barney can get Swanner on top of getting Dahl and Friedrich is a little too muchComment

Barney's fielding is a thing of beauty, no doubt, but his bat is meh. Decent average hitter but doesn't have a high walk rate or very much power.

I'm not high on Friedrich and I'm high on Barney so that's where I'm coming from on this."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
How realistic would a package deal be for the cubs to trade Soriano and Starlin to the Angels? I would be thinking of giving up something like Bourjos, Garrett Richards, Cowart, High C SP + maybe another piece if needed
This is all planning ahead for the allstar break as I'm in mid May, so any ideas will be greatly appreciated as this trade idea is only a thought. I'm basically looking to retool my MI but also trying to make a splash if possible| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
You don't really need either at 2B, though. You know what would be kind of cool? If they moved Castro to 2B and Barney to SS. If Barney could be a plus SS he'd be so insanely valuable, and Castro may even be a tick more valuable at 2B.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
No. Barney is a liability at SS. Wouldn't work. I'd rather have a GG second baseman than a average to below average SS--it would kill 100% of his value. In the only game I saw Barney play at SS last year, he made 1 error and nearly booted another. He doesn't have SS-type range."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

He did play SS in college, but I have a tough time understanding why you'd shift someone off their Gold Glove position.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In my Yankees franchise I am trying to trade for Chris Carter from the Astros. How does this trade look?
Astros:
Chris Carter
Yankees:
SP Brett Marshall 71 Ovr C potential
LF Ramon Flores 71 Ovr B potential
Also, I was looking at the Astros pitching staff and lefty Welsey Wright caught my attention. I need a knew lefty in my pen and would like to include him in the deal but I don't know who to add.Comment

Marshall is 8-5 with a 3.74 era in Triple A and Flores is batting .279 with 6 homers and 29 rbi's in Triple A.
This is halfway through July also.Comment

Carter is batting .253 with 11 homers and 41 rbi's. Not doing the greatest but I need the help. Wright is 2-4 with a 2.63 era and 1 save.
