Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
What would Adam Laroche and Ryan Zimmerman fetch me for the Nats? I envision Zimmerman as a DH since his throwing shoulder is shot. Im thinking move Rendon to 3rd look for a 2nd base prospect. Brandon Moss too much for Laroche? Younger I knowComment

Laroche--if he's not replicating his 2012, then you are looking at value similar to what PIT gave up for Morneau (Presley & Welker) if you can find a team in contention needing a 1B.
Z is worth a mid A and 2 high B's in prospects to a contending team needing a 3B. His shoulder shouldn't affect your digital world unless you his throwing accuracy rating is low to replicate it. Even then, he was getting more over the top of his throws later in the year.
I don't know if you want fair & realistic or just fair?Comment

I just tried to access the sheet for the first time in a long time, and it's saying it's been trashed. Is that so?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Playing with the Braves, I traded Uggla to the Dodgers for Speedy Dee Gordon and 2B Mark Ellis. I am 9 GB of the Phils at the trade deadline.
The move sets up to make a play for Altuve of the Astros or Solano of the Marlins in the off season. I am fixing the too much of the same hitter syndrome.. LOL
I am waiting on the PS4 version, so I should see the move through. Enjoying the outcome of the games of my 51-63 record.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
LAD wound up going after Chase Utley in one of my franchises during year one, so I could see them wanting Uggla in yours.
I have a question about the Giants. I love their park and like several of their players, but I would love to trade a starting pitcher and/or a reliever for an OF bat, or perhaps a 1B bat that would allow me to move Belt to a corner OF spot.
Can anyone make recommendations for realistic additions along those lines? I suppose that bat could also come at 2B and displace Scutaro. I'm using the online roster from season's end, FYI, so my trade targets would have to be major leaguers.Comment

I was cleaning up my hard drive and might have accidentally removed it from Google Docs. I'm on vacation but once I get back I'll put up the latest version in the OP, if someone reminds me."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Any ideas how to get Didi from the Diamondbacks or Simmons from the Braves on the Yankees? I'd probably have to part with SanchezYou Look Good, You Feel Good. You Feel Good, You Play Good. You Play Good, They Pay Good. - Deion Sanders

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I have some questions about the template.
Are you using osfm rosters? It doesn't matter what rosters you use.
Are there restrictions regarding multiple player trades? Maybe I'm not understanding the question but I'm going with no.
What are value1, value 2 and value 3? The spreadsheet basically tells you either what is fair value or what the general concensus is on the value of players in terms of prospects. Think about your generic trade deadline deals of the past. A contender would give up 3-4 prospects to get one MLB player. The spreadsheet says hey, this is the quality and number of prospects you could realistically get for that player. Say value1 is A, value2 is B, and value3 is B. Then, you could get 1 prospect with an A potential AND 2 prospects with B potentials for that one player. You could also use that to see how other MLB players are valued and find one of similar value to target in trade. It helps with fairness. It does not help with realism.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just for future reference, and because this topic came up. Once MLB 14 comes out I plan on running a franchise with the Yankees, and would like to make a preseason trade for either Didi or Owings. Since you said Sanchez for Didi would be fair and realistic, would Owings command the same price or would I need to add another piece.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I would say either one. The rumors are that they want a young controllable backstop for either Didi or Owings but maybe as spring rolls through, they'll have a preference on which one to give up. The Mets supposedly offered Plawecki who might be about a low B for Didi and he was not quite good enough in Arizona's eyes.Comment

Yeah I did hear about that. Nick Franklin looks like another Mets target so we will likely have to wait and see how it all plays out.
