Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I had no idea what NFG was talking about there, maybe just referring to the fact to keep your team together and not trade anyone. NFG reminds me of Keith Law with those every once in a while snarky remarks. hahaComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
As a Yankees fan, I'd probably say "no thank you". I could be very wrong about JP, but what would he offer that Russell Martin wouldn't have? I see a low batting average, poor discipline, and a fair amount of power. Not to mention that Yankees management has seemed to stress the importance of defense for a catcher.Comment

SpoilerYes, I know his arrogance doesn't matter in the game. I still hate him with the passion of 1000 white hot burning suns.
I'd preferably like Mark Montgomery back in any deal... What would be more fair, Gumbs + Montgomery or Austin + Montgomery? Dunno what Austin is in OSFM, haven't downloaded it
At least Keith Law doesn't have a (100% irrational) love for a mediocre singer

I'd figure management would forgo defense for more power what with all the injuries, right?Last edited by AC; 04-03-2013, 01:55 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

It's not the most outrageous suggestion by any means, just trying to give you a bit of the Yankees perspective. I certainly wouldn't throw a fit if you went ahead and did the trade (well, I'd throw a fit if it happened in real life, but I'm biased).Comment

I more brought up Martin because they could have had for this year but chose to let him walk. Just have a hard time seeing them turn around and trade one of their better prospects for someone who is so similar (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Martin is also a bit better defensively).

Martin >>>>> JPA by eons. Great catcher. However, in a video game, I think JPA's better/more valuable."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I am messing around with houston an I wanted to get a shortstop. With Tulo I figured maybe they would trade Story who I know nothing about.
I figured to start with brett wallace since helton has to be out of gas soon and they dont seem to have much behind him.
Two questions
1. Would they realisticly give him up
2. Who would I need to add to the trade for proper value. I would even add value on my end to bring back a reliever since Houston has pretty much no one in the pen.Comment

1) They would have to value the return for Story over Josh Rutledge.
2) Package would probably have to be Norris for Story."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Some weird things were going on with Martin. Apparently the Yankees never even approached him, even for a one year deal. Not sure anyone outside the front office knows for sure why they didn't bring him back. I think Austin is a High B and Gumbs is a Low B for what it's worth.Comment
