Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I could see how they need pitching, but with the Rockies depth at the catcher position, now sure how much Gattis helps you, unless you are thinking RF or maybe 1B.
To me it's fair because they need a arm thus should be willing to possibly overpay and it's not like Gattis is tearing it up.
Torrealba has been awful offensively. I'v been using him strictly for his defense. He's hitting .154 in limited playing time.MLB 13 The Show Dynasty -- Mile High Magic Returns: A Colorado Rockies Dynasty Is BornComment

I will have to look at his speed ratings. Not sure he is really a leadoff type guy, but thanks for taking the time to give me another option to think about.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Okay looking to pickup up a RH hitting OF that can play at the MLB level.
In my past Franchise I traded for J. Bourgeios of the Ray's but he is currently on the DL for 6 months and isn't a option this time around.
I am thinking Rajai Davis-Toronto (75 C) but currently his speed doesn't seem to get used by the Bluejays in the game (batting .203 with 6 SB's in 64 MLB AB's).
I was thinking maybe Coco Crisp (.242 28 SB's) (87 B), but typically don't see much inter division trading especially with all Oakland still in the hunt with my M's for the AL West Title.
C Gentry (78 C) was another thought but same reasoning as Crisp.
and the last person I am across was Eric Young JR (80 B). (.281 with 9 SB's in 121 AB's) Colorado currently has him playing 2B?
Do any of you have any other thoughts.
Also if I go Davis or Young what are good trade options.
For Davis I was thinking of either a young SS I have in Single A (Jose Munoz 64 C rated but only 19) or OF Trey Martin (65 C rated batting .357 in 8 AB's in AA) or both.
For Young, not sure maybe a SP like 19 yr Edwin Diaz (62 B) and Munoz or Martin, or SP A. Fernandez (73 C).
Or do you think the Rockies would want a more MLB ready SP like E. Ramirez or maybe J. Paxton (77 B). To much??
If so, Davis is your man. Of the ones you mentioned, Edwin Diaz would be fine to send back.
If you go for EY Jr., who I think is a bit younger and more versatile so he'd be a nice option long-term, I definitely don't think it'd cost you a top flight SP prospect like Paxton. Erasmo Ramirez (or Iwakuma who's 10 years older) would be fine for EY Jr considering that he's playing pretty well. I'd check their rotation to be sure they could use a starter, but they ALWAYS need a starter.
You could also add someone like Taylor Ard or Ji-Man Choi (prospect who can play 1B) and get another C-prospect from the Rockies if neither of those guys are in your plans.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Need a trade tip fellas.
EDIT:I said June 12, it's actually May 12 in my Rockies 'chise, and I get the following trade request from the Braves:
Rockies get: C Evan Gattis
Braves get: RP Wilton Lopez
Gattis: 67 AB, .269/.338/.463, 3 HR, 10 RBI
Lopez: 15.0 IP, 1-0, 1.20 ERA, 6 HLD, 12 K, 2 BB, 1.00 WHIP.
Beachy is out until mid-late June with a back injury, Venters out for the year with a torn rotator cuff, and Christian Martinez out for 2+ months with a torn labrum.
Thoughts?

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The cpu just made this trade in my franchise:
Tigers get Zack Wheeler and Zach Lutz
Mets get Nick Castellanos and Al Alburquerque
Not sure if this is a good trade or not, thoughts?
Tigers are 43 and 28 leading the central by 5.5 and Mets are 34-38 6 back in the eastComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I don't think this one is terrible actually. Both Castellanos and Wheeler will probably not be traded but, Wheeler could certainly hold down a starting spot in Detroit's stacked rotation and Castellanos would be heaven-sent for the Mets' OF situation.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah, this is one of the better ones the cpu has come up with (though that's not saying much). On a Top 100 prospect list, Wheeler is mlb.com #7 and Castellanos is mlb.com #20 for what it's worth.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The O's currently have Hardy on the bench in my dynasty. What could they get for Betemit (.210/.206/.355 with 10 HR, 28 RBI) + Reimold (.200/.246/.275 with 4 HR, 10 RBI)?
I was thinking maybe a 5th SP or reliever+bench type player
OR I would move JJ Hardy if that option is easier since they are using Machado at SS for some reason and Betemit at 3B. I know Hardy is a loved player so dunno about that option. Baltimore is 37-36 and currently 2nd in AL East.
Other notable players that could move:
- Nate McLouth (.299, 3 HR, 17 RBI)
- Brian Roberts (.243, 3 HR, 9 RBI)
- Wei Yin Chen (4-6, 5.27 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 62K)
- Chris Tillman (4-5, 5.88 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 58K)
- Jason Hammel (5-6, 4.48 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 49K)
- Miguel Gonzalez (2-4, 4.24 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 55 K)
I could add 1 of those SP listed above with Reimold and Betemit or just with 1 of them for SP upgrade if that makes more sense. I am the Blue Jays just trying to make some smart moves for the CPU
Thanks guys

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Well I can't do Romero because he is on the DL for the next 2-3 months.
I could do Marder though, similar positions similar potential.
However the problem with Denorfia, Blanks and Guzman are they don't fit everything I am looking for.
I want a Righty who has speed and could leadoff..
That is why I had Crisp,Gentry,Young or Davis.
You being a Bluejays fan, what would be a fair deal for Davis.
Also know there is a lot of Rockies fans on the boards, what would it take to get E. Young Jr. I am thinking like Paxton or Ramirez. and before you go telling me of all the great pitching prospects Colorado has, just know in the game, Roy Oswalt is currently the only SP out of both the MLB rotation and AAA rotation with a ERA under 5.00 and Chacin is 1-8 with a ERA over 6 and De La Rosa is 1-7 with a ERA over 6.00 so they could use a MLB ready SP in the gameComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
How the sam hill did the Rays get Baez?
I like Rajai Davis for you for the sole fact that he's by far the cheapest of the bunch to acquire and might be the fastest too. Since you picked all guys that can run, I assume you aren't looking for a HR threat here?
If so, Davis is your man. Of the ones you mentioned, Edwin Diaz would be fine to send back.
